WL Photopass Session

Hi All!!! I'm so excited, I just booked a family photo session @ WL. I've personally never been to this hotel, so I need help! Any ideas/suggestions or must's have locations for photos? Does anyone have any pictures taken @ WL that they would like to share with me? I would love to see them!

I picked this resort, b/c we just love waterfalls, cozy lodge settings and it's more rustic. We are going at Christmas time, so I'm hoping for a picture infront of the Christmas tree and I know they have a gyser...maybe that won't be a good spot, but the gyser sounds really cool...any idea's? I'm sure they have their standard spots they take pictures at, but curious what you all suggest.

Also, They have a 20min session and a 40 min session...which will be better? It's only 2 adults and 2 kids ages 12 & 9. My kids are use to taking pictures, so they are good. I just hope I don't get any crossed eyes or funny faces from my son! LOL! Not sure we'll need the 40 min, but I want alot of different locations. Will I get enough with just 20 min?

We are staying @ POR riverside in just 19 more days!!! Yahoo!! Too bad they don't do this at POR, that would be cool to get them done where we are staying. Thanks everyone!

I would book 40 minutes if you want indoor and outdoor pictures..20 minutes for each and not too much more expensive.

My personal recommendations for MUST-DO photos
. . . in front of geyser (on the hour)
. . . indoor creek & bridge
. . . the Christmas Tree !!!!!!!!!!!
. . . villas' Iron Spike Room (Walt's Train cars)
. . . third floor overlooking the lobby
. . . on the dock overlooking the lake
. . . in rocking chair in front of fireplace

We observed a lot of pictures being taken outside where the water flows towards the pool and the Lodge would be in the background.

We did this in Oct a year ago. It took us 30-40 min to hit all the spots. The photographer knew all of the best places around the resort that would make good shots. We did it around 8:30 or 9 am so the light would be better for the outside shots. The session turned out great. Our favorite shot was inside the lodge in one of the rocking chairs in front of the fireplace.
