I have stayed at CB resort and POR and have enjoyed each for their uniqueness. My tip is decide for yourself what do you want out of your resort, the feel you looking for. CB was fun for me because I liked the hammocks, the island with its nooks and crannies, and the whole island look and feel. However we also liked POR for the peacefulness and its isolated feel. So laid back! We loved riding the bikes and catching the boat ride to DTD!

POFQ. It's small and compact, the bus service is pretty good and they have beignets in the food court

I'm gonna go with something different and say Coronado Springs! You can request a cabana or casitas room and be closer to the bus stop and main building. The pool here is SPECTACULAR and the Pepper Market is a nice variety of things for a counter service. The theme is beautiful there!!!

It depends. My preference would be Port Orleans Riverside with kids and possibly Port Orleans French Quarter if going without kids. We haven't stayed at the other two moderate resorts.

I just wanted to throw in a quick tip in case you weren't aware. You can still stay at POP and upgrade to the free "table service" dining plan. We were going to upgrade to the moderate for the free plan as well until I remembered I can just upgrade the food, I don't have to upgrade the resort. Saved us about $400, even with the price for the upgraded dining plan. Just a thought in case that helps!

Coronado Springs is my favorite moderate resort. Plus the beds are queen beds. Port Orleans French Quarter is a close second but, for me, it would need to be in a king bed room. The resort is charming.

We love POFQ for the boat to DTD and it is centrally located betweeen all the parks. Also the samll size mean less walking after a long day at the parks. It only has standard size beds so it could be a cozy night for larger guests sharing a bed.

Of the moderates, I have only stayed at POFQ. Both of my stays there were great. It's a small resort. The food court has good variety. There is lobby music entartainment on several nights. The boat to DTD is great because parking there is very tough. You can also use the pool at POR.

We've stayed at each of the moderates with the exception of Coronado Springs. The obvious answer is that you really can't go wrong with any of them. I think in a tough call that POR - Alligator Bayou would be my favorite. I prefer the resort because of it's theming and being on the Sasgagoula river (and the opportunity to boat down to DTD) and the feeling of peacefulness.

Caribbean Beach Resort would be my second choice. It's very large but I always enjoyed my walks from Jamaica to the food court, always spending a few moments on the island.

We are going down again I think in December and will be doing POR - AB.

It depends....if you only need one bed (i.e not kids)...then my choices in order would be.

POFQ - love the themeing, short walks from anywhere in the resort, and boat to DD

POR - theming pretty good, great entertainment in the evening

however, if you need two bed....CSR for the queens.

thanks NOKONHARTS. i contacted magical journeys and apparently i already was planned for the basic dining. that made my night. i wanted to stay at the pop because of all the silly themed memorbilia. i can't wait to see the mr and mrs potato head.

thanks everyone else for the feed back we do plan on eventually staying at a moderate as the children age but my kids are very young so they will get a kick out of the huge lady and the tramp.

I'd recommend CSR!! Besides having a great main pool area, CSR also offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price.

CSR has queen beds while the other mods have doubles like the values. The rooms have been recently renovated and are gorgeous.

CSR has a fitness center, spa, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a night club.

CSR has a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room instead of a privacy curtain like the other mods.

CSR has the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. The pool, slide and playground area is great.

It also has the best transportation of all the mods and the quickest rides to all 4 parks.

You're welcome! I agree, our daughter is only 2 and will probably enjoy POP more than the moderates this time around anyway. Might as well save the cash for later.

i think coronado for cleanliness and beauty. the other two are kinda worn down and really do need a good change. i know carribean has had a refurb but it is still not nice enough in my honest opinion. we disliked por and pofq however we are deluxe people.

We've stayed at all but the Port Orleans French Quarter. I agree that it really comes down to what sort of experience you're seeking. I loved the tropical feel of the Caribbean and the relaxed atmosphere of Port Orleans Riverside. The Coronado is a nicely themed resort, but we had a really bad experience and won't be returning to that one.

We've stayed at CBR and CS and enjoyed our stays at both of them. They are both really large resorts. It really depends on what you are looking for in a resort. They each offer a different sort of theme/feel. The good thing about both of them is that they offer multiple bus stops at each resort so you don't have to walk forever to get to a bus stop. We also liked the choices of food that were available at each resort.
