Default Fl resident AP pymt option - UPDATE 8/12/10

I just saw on facebook that Disney has launched the monthly payment option. They make you put down a deposit, then the remaining balance is billed monthly. Yay! We have been passholders to Busch Gardens for years utilizing a monthly payment option, now I plan to upgrade my season pass for AP with Disney!!

I heard this options was becoming available. I might try it out when we need to renew our passes. Thanks for the update.

Do they charge a premium for splitting the payments up over 12 months or is it simply 12 installments of (Pass Price / 12)?

The price is spread over 12 months, however they make you pay part up front. I did not make a purchase, but went through the sign up process to see how much of a deposit, and it came to roughly 20% down. There are no fees or extra charges that I am aware of.

I just went to the Disney site and went thru the process and did not see where there was an option for a payment plan. They just wanted the payment in full. What am I doing wrong?

My understanding is that it's only for new purchases at this time, no renewals.

I wonder why it is only available for new passes, not renews? I hope that changes soon.

Disneyland has this program too for So Cal residents. They allow you to do it for renewals too, so it's probably just a matter of time.

i hope they do this for out of state pass holders sometime in the near future. We've been to disney 5 times (and leaving tomorrow morning another) this year. Our passes expire Saturday and we arent renewing, if we had the option of the monthly plan, we probably would.

I agree. I hope down the road they make it a viable option for people out of state. I don't know what the logisitics might be to allow this option for us who are unlucky and live far away.

Just announced on the DisneyParks Blog -

Update – August 11: We have a quick update to share today for Florida residents interested in our annual pass monthly payment program option. You can now purchase and renew Florida resident annual passes at any Walt Disney World ticket window. If you recall, the option was initially only available for those of you who purchased an annual pass online. Check below for more details about the program.

That's fabulous. I'm guessing you can upgrade a one day ticket and still do the payment option. I know more than a few people that will benefit from this.

You can now use Give A Day vouchers as a down payment, when you do it at the ticket booth.

Oh, no! Sorry. It was early when I read this.

That's nice if they do indeed accept the vouchers as the initial down payment.

Too bad it's not for non-FL residents.... That would make it so much easier for college students like me to pay for my pass...
