    Default original refillable mugs

I'm sure that when we first bought our first refillable mugs in 1998 that they were advertised as refillable for life. I remember thinking, "well that will come back to bite them".
Am I crazy or did they quickly realize their mistake and change the nature of the refillables?

I was with my sister when she bought her mug around that time, and I distinctly remember her being told that it was refillable for life. I thought it was a great deal. Too bad I didn't get one!

Those mugs were indeed "unlimited refills" and can still be used. They changed to the length of stay only mugs around 2000.

Have never bought a mug - we drink water. I guess it would be handy for that....

We have so many mugs, I don't remember what year they were bought in. I have one that says Polynesian on it. Is that an unlimited refill mug?

It's pretty old. The rest of the mugs are "generic" - that is, no particular resort on it. I'm pretty sure those are not the "lifer" mugs.

Does anyone know what year the mugs went to "Length of Stay?" We were trying to figure out what year we first went to WDW, we think it was 1995. We purchased mugs each year and have a huge box full of them. I have kept every one. Would love to know which ones are "Life Time" mugs. Was fun going through and looking at each one. We've stayed at all the values, CBR/POFQ, and AKL.

Also, aren't they only refillable at the resorts?

    Default Thanks to everyone...

Well it's nice to know I'm not crazy; thanks for confirming my memory. The lifetime mugs I bought were very plain with just the resort name and symbol on it. Later mugs have far more graphics, and I don't even know if this means anything but on my lifetime mugs the word "ALWAYS" appears along with the Coca-Cola emblem on the mug. It could just be a marketing coincidence that Coke was using that word in it's marketing at the time.

Yep, that parts just coincidence. Coke's marketing slogan at that time was "Always Coca-Cola"
