Rent vest without snorkel gear?

This is our first Disney Cruise. We are planning to go snorkelling in the lagoon on Castaway Cay. We already have masks and snorkels, but I notice it says everyone MUST wear a life vest to snorkel in the lagoon. I know if you rent snorkel gear, it comes with the vests, but is it possible to get just the vests? Will we end up paying the same amount for just vests as if we were renting the snorkel gear, too? Because if that is the case, we will not bother packing our own snorkels. More space for souvenirs.

Swim vests are free, so if you bring your own equipment, there's no charge for the snorkeling. A word of advice though, do it early. As the day goes on and the shallower water gets kicked up by lots of people, you have to go further and further out to see anything.

Will have to scrape my kids out of bed bright and early.
