June Rental Car Prices: WOW!!!
I've been researching rental car prices for my late June trip. In the past week they have gotten outrageous.
I have a reservation booked for around $200 for the week, taxes included, using a Costco discount for an intermediate at Alamo. I've been checking several times a week to see if prices improves.
Well, sometime in the past week, they jumped...and I mean jumped. Now the same reservation is just about $500!!!!
Here's hoping that things improve, but glad I made the reservation when I did.

Car prices were ridiculous when I went last Sept as well. I did find that the week prior to my trip they dropped and I was able to modify it down.

It appears that they are really proud of the cars.
Are they going to hold a gun on you so you feel better about paying that much.
WOW! Talk about price gouging....

Car rental prices have been quite high in Florida - not sure what's going on - but they must have enough demand that allows them to keep the prices in the range(s) you're seeing.

We stopped renting cars a number of years ago. We topped out at like $700 for a rental (2 weeks) and when you add that to the cost of the room, parking, etc, staying off-site is not a very good deal anymore.
We've been more than happy with Disney transport while on vacation. We grab a limo to/from the resort/airport and then let Disney take care of the rest.

I just got a full size car rental from Alamo for $200 for 10 days. Pretty darn good in my book. This was a last minute deal/code that was emailed to me. I pick the car up on May 21st and I booked it on May 2nd. I have been vigilant in checking EVERYONE's prices and they were welll over $400 for the same car right up to the email I got.
Sometimes it pays to be patient.

We are not going to WDW until end sept/first oct. Checked car prices and got a 9 day rental from national, mid size car for $231.00. I did use my national emerald club card and a one day free rental discount from a coupon book. This rate seemed pretty good so I booked it, but keep watching in case they have a day when the rate drops even more.

The best discount we find is with Dollar using a public code kiss2 which is found in the Orlando vacation guide.
We have a mid-size for eight days at a cost of $148.52 + tax.

We booked in January for our late July/early August trip at a cost of $26.11 per day ($182/wk) through National for an Intermediate with Emerald Club. About what I expected when booking that early. I just checked today, and that rate is over $35 per day.
Last year in June, a week before our late June/early July trip, I was able to reduce our rate to $22.33 per day from a rate that was much higher. I hope to be able to do that this year, too. Keep checking up until you leave for a better rate!

Just got back from a May 2-7 trip and used my Emerald Club membership and a free day with National. Ended up paying $201 total for a Chrysler Sebring, which was well worth it. I don't know how people can go on vacation and sit around waiting for buses all the time. We pay for our rental cars with the change we put in a jar throughout the year.

Sounds like you booked just in time. $200 inclusive isn't bad. Hopefully you'll see a rate drop, but at least you have a decent rate to fall back on. I have been researching rates for our trip in July and they have been minimum $500, but closer to $700! I can get airfare for less than that for my entire family! YIKES!
