Transportation from POR
We are staying at POR for the first time.
I have read many opinions on the bus service to the parks from POR.
What are the best strategies for taking the bus in the morning? I see that there are 3 bus stops at POR, is there any one stop better than the others?

The buses hit all the stops unless they are full. The front entrance is always the most crowded, but that's where you get the bus the easiest. The other places are less crowded but, as I mentioned, if the bus is full it will bypass those other stops.

When are you going, and do you have little children?
We've gone in mid December, so it is not a terribly busy time. We've never bothered with stratgizing, as we found there really never was much of a wait. We just went out to the bus stop at the main building when ever we felt like leaving and waited - never more than about 10 minutes. The only problem is lots of time we ended up standing - but my youngest was 8 the first time and 10 the second time, so it wasn't really a big deal. However, if you are going in a really busy season, or with very small children, it might make it more necessary to think about strategies.

If it's busy and the buses are full, going to the bus stop near the main building is your best bet even though that one is usually the busiest. It's the first of the 3 stops. If your room is on the side of POR nearest POFQ, you could also walk over to the single bus stop at that resort - it's a bit longer of a walk but when the resorts share buses, it's usually the first stop.

We've never had a bus pass us by, and we've never caught a bus at the main bus stop by the main building. But we've never been at WDW during a peak time, either. The only complaint that we have is not something that is specific to POR. It drives us nuts when we are waiting for a bus, only to have buses for the other parks come and go, sometimes multiple buses for the same park, while we're waiting longer for the bus to our park. But that has happened no matter where we stay. So now, we just drive to the parks and park for free. But we don't fly into MCO and get the Magical Express, either.
