Chefs de France or Biergarten?
We love Biergarten, and I made reservations for lunch for my birthday. I'm second guessing my decision, reading wonderful things about Chefs de France. Love French food, this would be something new to try.
Which would you choose?

Biergarten every day of the week, and twice on Sunday!

Biergarten is one of those places I could only do once. Fun, neat atmosphere, but I wasn't crazy about the food. Chefs de France, I have revisited many times. If you want a lively, fun time, choose Biergarten. If you're interested in trying something new and your focus is on the food, try Chefs de France.

Depends on what you're looking for in the dining experience...as you know Biergarten is more casual and is a buffet where you share a table with others and listen to a band...Chefs De France is more elegant and private, more sophisticated food choices...to me its not a matter of being better, just a matter of being different

I agree! I grew up with a German Grandmother, so the food was not what I expected. I did enjoy Chefs de France though!

We did Chefs de France and I did like it, but it was not to my liking. My DW enjoyed it and she would like to go back. I guess what I am trying to say is that it would be my second choice.
On the otherhand, being of German decent, I tend to enjoy the comfort foods of my youth. While they might not taste the same as what I am used to they still do a pretty good job.

We have had lunch at Chefs de France several times. They have a pix 3 course that is wonderful. I have gotten the onion soup with ham & cheese sandwich and creme brulee. Last year I tried the lobster bisque Ham & cheese & creme brulee. The cost of this is only 20.00 and well worth it. Last year it was my birthday so they also brought something out and sang happy birthday to me. What ever you decide have a wonderful birthday.

It's funny because my son just talked me into cancelling my Chef de France ressie and replacing it with Biergarten. We've eaten at Biergarten every trip and, obviously, he loves it. I'm german and have been to Germany many times. If you like german food, it's good. The atmosphere is really fun. You have to like others though. We always get a table with people that seem very uncomfortable and don't want to talk. Maybe it's just us! Do I offend?

All things being equal, I would also say...

Prost!

Did Chefs de France once a couple years ago, and hated it. The food quality and preparation were abysmal.
Tried Biergarten for the first time ever this past December, and LOVED it! It's now going to be on our dining list for upcoming trips. The food and atmosphere were awesome! I can't believe we waited 13 years to try this place!

Usually I love German food, but the Biergarten just didn't do it for me when DW and I ate there. We tried Chefs de France during our Dec. visit and loved it. The food, the presentation, and even the people watching were magnificent.
I would recomend trying Chefs de France.

We tried both places on my last vacation, and loved both of them. Biergarten had amazing food, the only thing we didn't care for was sharing the table with strangers. France was delicious also, more elegant, and when we went for lunch, Remy was there (is he still there?) So it depends on the atmosphere, mostly. Both restaurants are so good!! You have a very tough decision to make! Have fun!!

Both are pretty good. I like the Biergarten when I am very hungry. There are good options of food there. The desserts are really good, specifically the red berry compote. I can't remember the name.
Chefs of France is good too but I would have liked more food. I am a bigger eater though.
In the past the quality was better at Chefs of France but recently I was not as impressed.

DH would say Biergarten but I say Chefs de France. We both like the latter but I don't like German food. The only down side I have found to Chefs is the rudeness of the Maitar d. He really irritated me.
