New Show: Totally Tomorrowland Christmas
Buzz Lightyear & Mike Wazowski help “stitch” together an awesome new Magic Kingdom show
There’s a hot new holiday show experience coming to bring a new sense of “cool” to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Outlandish creatures meet strange new worlds. Comedy and music with an up-to-the-minute pop sound collide in A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas.
This unearthly new show adds up, somehow, as 50% live Radio Disney rock concert, 50% Disney Channel comedy and 50% Disney”Pixar Character celebration. Among the chart-topping holiday hits is a sizzling, explosively choreographed staging of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” re-creating the hit version heard on Radio Disney.
Our host is interplanetary pop star, Haley Comet (best known to TV fans on the Red Planet as the rockin’ star of The Martian Channel Original Series, “Mona Plutonia”). It is her pleasure and privilege to bring to her Tomorrowland®fans&the one and only Buzz Lightyear!
Inside the space actor’s capsule
Buzz recounts the intense, gripping adventure that is, of course, “Jingle Bells.” Our favorite space ranger brings to this piece a level of gravitas only a starship captain can. Buzz emotes it to the hilt, once again making the holidays safe from evil (but not necessarily from scenery chewing).
Now, what’s the holiday season without the inevitable get-together with that special monster in your life? Mike Wazowski takes the stage with some great material that just killed ‘em in the mountain resorts of Monstropolis—a knockout take on “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” The rockin’, rollin’ capers and cut-ups of these frolicsome friends are festooned with intergalactic interactivity.
Well, Stitch, you’ve done it again!.”
All the while, Stitch has been exploring the cosmos to keep track of Santa’s journey. The little alien, who tends to get things a little muddled, doesn’t quite understand the whole “happy holiday” concept. Things get cosmically crazy for a while, but hey—it’s the holiday season and this is a Magic Kingdom® show, so how do you think it all works out? Stitch brings the spirit of friends and family, and it’s a happy holiday “‘Ohana” for all.
All these holiday hijinks and pop music explosions are waiting for you during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. And while you’re at Mickey’s party, head over to Adventureland®to check out how pirates “arr”-ring in the holidays with the music and comedy of Rusty Cutlass, a swashbuckling band whose yuletide repertoire includes the evergreen “Grandma Ran Away to Be a Pirate.”
A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas starring Buzz Lightyear, Mike Wazowski and Stitch premieres November 10, the first night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, magically fun evenings of parades, fireworks, treats and select popular Magic Kingdom attractions."
So, pretty much they found a way to stuff more Stitch down our throats... Wow, whoever is in charge of releasing this nonsense really needs to be escorted out of the building and fast...
EDIT: Just watched a video of this online.. If they only left it to Christmas songs, it may not have been bad... I guess it couldn't be worse than Stitch's Supersonic Failure, but, wow, this is awefully close... I feel bad for the performers.. They are to be commended for doing their best.. They need to leave the characters out of it.. This could have been terrific if they just left it with the performers and no STITCH!!!! And the host, Haley Comet, is a lot better than Trip Trendo...
Son of Jor-El.. Kneel before Zod...
TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...
BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Does this mean that they are no longer doing Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas? Isn't that where this show was done?

Mickey's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas was performed at the Galaxy Palace Theater which has been torn down.
A new stage, dubbed the Rocket Tower Plaza Stage, was built earlier this year in Tommorowland. Unlike Galaxy Palace Theater, the new addition is just a stage with no formal seating area. The new Christmas show is being performed here.

For better or worse, it appears they have.

Thankfully this is temporary. A space-aged holiday show featuring a monster? The show is better than the previous horror show though. Disney needs to stop adding characters to everything. By the way, Mike losing his arm was pretty funny.
Let's stop defending mediocrity out of Disney and hold Disney to the higher standard they set up themselves.

boy....doesn't it seem like a newly upgrade space mountain would draw enough attention to make alien character stage shows unnecessary?

Don't ya know? Nottin says Christmas more than Stitch.

I actually like Stitch. I hate Stitch's Great Escape, but I like Stitch...
Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you!

I also really like stitch. He just needs a good ride

Does the Tomorrowland Christmas show run at a certain time or times? Or does it run every so often?

I think this is performed only doing the Christmas party, but I am not sure.

Sorry, I knew is was only during MVVMCP. But I found my answer. The Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Shows are 7:45, 8:45, 9:50, 10:45 and 11:45. I'll be at one of them Dec 1st.

On my recent trip I took the time to see the show and while I didn't think it was great it was actually pretty good and it was nice to see MIke and Buzz in the show and Stitch really wasn't even that annoying. Overall it was a cute little show of course I was still disappointed that the removed Mickey's Twas the Night since that was really one of my favorites.

Go to youtube and watch the video of the first show, you won't believe what happens to poor mike. I was laughing to tears.

I saw that video too....poor guy!

I agree with the person that said whoever came up with this idea should be shown the door. Please do not tell me that this is a better fit to celebrate the Christmas season than Mickey's Night Before Christmas show...your argument does not hold up!

[QUOTE=DizneyFreak2002;1983883]So, pretty much they found a way to stuff more Stitch down our throats...
Stitch is a awesome character. And I really don't get where you are coming from when you say they've found another way to stuff more Stitch down our throats. There's not nearly enough! Yes, the ride sucked. It sucked before Stitch. Yes, they should tear it down and try again with a different Stitch concept. Stitch used to have his very own gift shop and now it has been taken over with power rangers, toy stor, and other Disney stuff. Finding Stitch merchandise is like finding a needle in a haystack! I think you are very wrong in your thoughts. Stitch doesn't even compare to the amount of Tinkerbell, Mickey, Minnie, Donald stuff that has taken over the kingdom and disney stores... Just something to think about . I thought the show was a bit corny, but the actual video parts of Stitch were very well done and quite tamed. Haley Comet was what should of been missing rather than any of the disney characters. Your at Disney. Disney Characters belong in everything. Especially at the Magic Kingdom!

Actually isn't Stitch an alien? So a space-aged holiday show with an alien seems like a good fit to me.
