Which resort first?
We're splitting our next trip between CBR and AKL, but we can't decide which to do first. My reasoning is that AKL is a step "up" so we should do it second, but my husband thinks CBR sounds more relaxing (pictures himself lying in a hammock, I think) so we shoud do IT second. We've never stayed at either, so I'd like advice from those in the know :-)

I've never stayed at either resort, but I think you have the right idea. I would save the more deluxe resort for last in a split stay.

Definitely do the deluxe last if you are staying for several nights at both. We added a couple of nights on to our last WL trip, but couldn't get a room, so we switched to POFQ. We like both resorts, but having stayed at a deluxe for almost a week made us notice the little things much more than had we simply stayed at POFQ the entire trip. Double beds instead of Queens. Smaller, older TVs vs. brand new flatscreens. Balcony. Slightly larger room. View. Interior hallways.
Either way you decide to go, have a great trip.

Delux last....you would hate to regret splitting the stay because you are not enjoying the mod as much.
You will have something wonderful to look forward to if you save the best for last.

I agree with the other posts. I would save the deluxe for last. You are going to enjoy CBR a lot though!!

I have stayed at both resorts. While I do love CBR, I would rather do it first. Like others said it would be a let down to start off at AKL then go to CBR. AKL offers a better/different experience and can be relaxing.

AKL last! We did a split with Pop and AKL and it was wonderful to finish up our trip with the deluxe. Enjoy!

I'll go along with the crowd and say AKL last but just add one more thing to consider from our own experience. We stayed at the Poly one year and got pretty spoiled. Thought we would leave early afternoon on what was supposed to be our final day but decided we could get back home a day later. So we put our parkhoppers to full use that day and spent that night in the only Disney resort we could afford last minute-- AS Music.
We had fun there but of course it was a bit of a step down from the Poly. Turns out it was a pretty good way to nudge us back to the real world because the next morning, while we were still very sad our WDW trip was over, it was easier to leave the ASMu than the Poly.

Another recommendation for the AKL at the end of your stay.
I can tell you from our experience (we've stayed at both CBR and AKL) that AKL is extremely relaxing - probably more relaxing than CBR. AKL would be a great way to spend the second half of your vacation. Have a great trip!

another vote for AKL last. Save the best for last.
