A sugar free wish...
I wish the network TV was full of variety shows in the evenings and GOOD cartoons on Saturday morning. Do you remember the CBS After School Special? What about the local afternoon matinee movie? Ours was Dialing for Dollars - the host would call people "at random" from the phone book (which had been chopped into a million pieces). When he called you had to know the dollar amount in the jackpot to win.

My sister had the Jolly Green Giant Factory, I loved that toy, at least until I took it apart to figure out how it worked. I was always the little engineer, hehehe - basically broke it. My sister hated when I got my little tool belt out, LOL!

I second bonomo turkish taffy. Loved the Vanilla. I heard sometime in 2010 for it.
Marathon Candy Bars, was braided chocolate and carmel.
Black Cows- chocolate covered Sugar Daddy
Rice Krinkles cereal. I showed my kids the commercial for it on youtube. SOOO not politically correct! But they could not stop laughing.

You beat me to the punch! Everyone else is mentioning food, but since bacon and dougnuts haven't changed, I was going to take the TV route. What ever happened to shows like BJ and the Bear, Fall Guy, CHiPs, M*A*S*H, The Incredible Hulk...?? I miss quality TV

Our local Publix, and our Ingles both carry B&M Brown Bread in the can....Still an occasional treat!
I think General Mills used to make Buckwheats...Haven't seen it in years. Never was all that fond of it, so haven't really been looking for it.

Real Fisher Price toys!
I had the classroom and the ferris wheel and I loved the parking garage! I even had the desk with the magnetic plastic letters and I learns how to spell words!
Another vote for real Saturday Morning Cartoons! Smurfs used to be on for 90 minutes and I loved it Superfriends and you always knew when it was time to go outside and play when American Bandstand came on!

Mighty Mouse, Lippy the Lion, and TwoShay (sp?) Turtle...definitely my favorite cartoons.
Anyone besides me remember when the Flintstones was on at night, once a week at 7pm as a prime time show?
I also miss the fact that you don't have the anticipation of the one special night the Christmas Specials were on! Now, you can watch Rudolph at any time of year..somehow it is not as special as that eagerly anticipated show!
The food I miss...is still for sale in normal areas of the world, however, Colorado seems to think it doesn't exist: Marshmallow Fluff (not the icky creme stuff), hotdog rolls with the sides for grilling, Kayem hotdogs, and a 1/2 dozen other things that can't seem to cross the Mississippi lol! Thank goodness I have friends who send care packages!

Watch out...you might be showing a little age here. I too had the parking garage and airplane, farm, ferris wheel, house...etc...and they were made out of WOOD. They felt "right" to play with. Lincoln Logs too made out of WOOD not plastic. I refuse to buy plastic lincoln logs.
TV...I kinda miss Project Terror and Elvira Mistress of the Dark on Friday nights. (Ok...it's weird but ever since I was really little I'd watch the friday night scary movie with my Dad...). Elvira was more of a late teenage thing but she was GREAT...as the Killer Tomatoes were squashed by the sound of Donny Osmond.

I'm so happy to hear about Turkish Taffy! I hope it comes back to my area, too.
I forgot about Marathon Bars - I loved those! I also liked the original Whatchamacallit (without caramel).
As for TV, I miss Bugs Bunny and Friends on Saturday mornings, and agree with the PP who mentioned the days when the holiday specials only aired once, and that was your only shot at seeing them. I do like having the DVDs now in case we miss them on. Back in the day, they also showed "The Wizard of Oz" once a year, and I remember that being a big event. I wish there were funny, family-friendly sitcoms again. There's really no series on network TV that we feel comfortable watching as a family.
Someone else mentioned wood Lincoln Logs - I also miss wooden Tinker Toys. I loved those - I made lots of furniture for my Barbie dolls out of them!

I don't know what they're called either, but I remember the first time that I had them. It was in 1976 on my first trip to WDW. I had an Orange one at an OJ stand somewhere in Florida going to WDW and I swear that I had a grape one or another orange one in the MK. Maybe I'm mixing memories, but those moments were kind of memorable.

My wish for what I had as a child that isn't around anymore.
INNOCENCE and the feeling of being safe in your neighborhood. I wish that kids today could go out side and play without fear.
Kids today have so much to worry about, I wish for the days of innocence and carefree summer days.

Oh...but the bacon has changed.
Years ago they began breeding pigs for leanness. My bacon doesn't cook up quite the way it used to. And don't get me started on how different pork chops are now. At least this is my experience here in FL.
