    Default Yellowstone trip photos

Here are some shots from our trip to Yellowstone in late June. It was a 3,500 mile round trip.
If you never make it here you are really missing out.

Thanks for sharing Altair. Loved the shot of Old Faithful Inn (aka Wilderness Lodge).
We live in a vast beautiful country, don't we?
We drove out several years ago and you are right, it's a trip every American should experience.

After reading a lot of overheated puffery about your new cook, you know what I'm craving? A little perspective. That's it. I'd like some fresh, clear, well seasoned perspective. Can you suggest a good wine to go with that?

Beautiful pictures. There's so much to see and do there, don't be surprised if you find yourselves going back. We were there in early June, for the third time. I especially loved all the flower pictures, since the flowers weren't out yet when we went.

We've been many times and in all seasons. If you want to see wildflowers, mid-July is the peak time. The hike to Mystic Falls is one of the best spots to see them.

Thanks for sharing the pics! I was around 12 when my family drove out there. It was a very memorable trip!

Loved the pictures! Yellowstone is on our list of upcoming vacations. Maybe 2011, but after Christmas this year I am going to start my research since I have never been there before.
One question, where you in a car when you saw the bear??????

No, but the bear was about 100 yards away, across a creek and we were about 50 feet above it.

Wow! I think I would have been panicked. How safe is it to walk around the park?

We went to the Grand Canyon 2 years ago and we loved the views and the huge elk and other animals we saw up close but I'm not sure how I would feel about a bear!
