    Default Eureka Springs, Ark

Next month, Kenny and I are heading on an impromptu mini-vacay to celebrate our 3 year wedding anniversary in Eureka Springs! Looking forward to it, espiecially since my sis talks constantly about it. Has anyone been there and what shouldn't we miss? We'll be there June 16-18.

Haven't been there yet, but plan to spend a day or two in Eureka Springs in July while at a rental cabin in Jasper, Arkansas. So I look forward to hearing any responses to your post too!

I spent one quick afternoon there a few years back and thought it was such a cute town. Great little shops! Sorry I can't be more help.

If you like trains, on the north end of Main Street is an interesting train museum. It has been many, many years since we were through there and they were just building it up. But, at the time they had quite a few cars and locomotives there. (the full size type, not toys)

And of course that part of the country is just beautiful.

We're gonna stay one night in Eureka at either the Joy Motel, Tradewinds, Stonegate Inn, Land O Nod, or The Razorback Lodge. (I can get a jacuzzi room at this one for pretty cheap!)
Then, on the 17th, we're gonna spend one night in Branson at the Lakeview Inn and I can get the AAA rate.

    Pretty excited!

Plenty to keep you busy for a few days in God's country. Some of these I haven't done for awhile but think they are all still options.
    -- Pine Mountain Jamboree
-- Turpentine Creek wild cat refugee
    -- Quigley Castle
-- Christ of the Ozarks statue + Passion Play
-- award winning Thorn Crown Chapel designed by Fayetteville, Ark native son E Fay Jones
-- tons of shops and restaurants
    -- train ride
    -- "haunted" Crescent Hotel
-- plenty of lakes, rivers, mountains in the Natural State for a hike or just a lazy afternoon.

I've been to Eureka more times than I can count. I live 45 mins away from it!

All of these are great ideas. I wouldn't miss the "Haunted" Crescent Hotel, Christ of the Ozarks statue & Passion Play and Quigley Castle. There is great shopping downtown and plenty of good cozy restaurants.

When driving around, try to follow the trolly signs and it will take you through some of the streets with great turn of the century homes. Explore and have fun!!

Is the Passion Play really worthwhile? I haven't been reading very good reviews of it lately on Tripadvisor.

    What is the Pied Piper?

It's been a few years since I've seen The Great Passion Play, I know of people who have gone recently and enjoyed it.
