Default Which Value Resort to stay at?

    Hi there,
My husband and I are planning a trip to the World next spring. I have been to Disney plenty of times and this will only be his second. We came on our Honeymoon and I think I overloaded him with things to do and so this time we are going to stay even longer. Since we are going to be there more nights we are thinking of going with a Value Resort. I've never stayed in any (I'm a POLY girl). We care more about the parks and food than our room. Which Value do you recommend and why?

(We are both musicians but have heard mixed reviews of the ASMu)

First & foremost, welcome to Intercot!

I've stayed (very briefly) at ASM and Pop Century. Personally, I liked Pop Century better....it's newer and you don't share a bus stop with All-Star Music or All-Star Sports. I also liked the pools at Pop better.

    Good luck & happy planning!

We just returned from a short trip in March and stayed at Pop for the first time. It's by far our favorite value resort. For some reason, it actually felt a step above the other values - more like a moderate but without the fridge or coffeemaker. We've also stayed at Sports and Music. Music was our least favorite - we didn't care for the theming and there was just something about it that we didn't like but really can't put a specific name to. I can't say we had any real complaints with any of them other than the hoards of Brazilian teenagers that descended on Sports in July at the same time we were there - very noisy!

The only value resort I have ever stayed at was Pop. We loved the food court, and have heard that it is the best out of the values. The hippy dippy pool is awesome, as are the quiet pools. The rooms were new, and very well appointed. I would choose Pop!!!

POP is the only Value Resort that I've ever stayed at (I've only been to WDW once), but I definitely recommend it. We loved the themes, the room was perfect for us, buses were never a problem, and we loved the food court and Everything Pop! store.

The only value we have stayed at is Pop, and we really enjoyed our stay! The food court was great-many things to choose from and something for everyone, the store was nice and big, and the pools were decent sized and didn't seem crowded. We had a preferred room, and we really enjoyed that as well. We were right outside of the main building and next to the pool! I think that Pop is a great value resort!

We have stayed at all of the value resorts several times and find the differences to be so minor as to not be of any serious consequence. Yes, there are some differences in layout and some difference in the bus schedules and all that but ultimately I think you should pick your location based on the theming you like and go from there!

I've stayed at All Star Movies and at Pop.

I liked the Pop better, because of the location. I have a car when I'm there and Pop is more centrally located.

ASM is way down by AK and AKL. It's not really close to anything.

We're staying there again for the third year in a row. I'm sure the All-Star resorts are fine, but we know we love POP so see no reason to change (unless they want to upgrade us to a deluxe, hint hint)

Another vote for Pop - it's the only Value I've stayed at though. I was like you before staying at the Pop - I was strictly a Yacht Club girl - and while I love the Yacht Club, the Pop Century was just so much FUN! I loved how they had music constantly playing from all the different decades, so maybe that would appeal to you two as musicians? Hope you have a great trip!

Pop! For two main reasons. 1) It's more centrally located. The All Stars are only close to AK, but it's kind of a hike to most of the other parks. Pop is a 5 min ride to Epcot and DHS, 10 to the other parks. 2) You don't have to share buses with 2 other resorts. At the end of the day, when you just want to get 'home' not having to stop 2 other times is wonderful!

I'm off to Pop for another stay (I think this is stay #5) in less than a week!

I've stayed at all the Values and Pop is my top choice with All-Star Movies second. Pop has better bus service than the All-Stars and is closer to the parks than the All-Stars which is far away from everything except Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach.

Wherever you stay - HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

    Smile We love Pop...

We stayed there for the first time tis spring after 2 previous stays at Poly.

I actually preferred Pop--it was so much fun! It has a retro family vacation vibe that we really enjoyed.

We stayed in a preferred room right outside the Hippy Dippy pool.

We're looking forward to staying at Pop again this Christmas.

We love Pop! It's so fun, especially if you like music and pop culture. If we could afford CBR or Poly for a week, we'd be there, but like you, our days in the parks matter more than our room.
