Staying at Swan July 09. Since Swan does not have room charging perk in the parks, I am looking for ideas on how to let my 17 and 15 year old sons charge things in the parks when we are not all together.
They sell Visa gift cards and you put a limited amount of money on them. You can add money to them when they use up the balance. Or, you could go to your local Disney store at the mall and buy them some Disney Dollars to use as their own spending money. This way you maintain some control over how much they are spending.

Do all the kiosks and restaurants accept Disney dollars and Disney gift cards? I seem to remember that there are at least a few in Epcot where we couldn't charge to our room. I think the Rainforest Cafe is the same, but I'm not positive.

The Disney gift cards are a good solution for you. You can get these Disney gift cards at the Disney shop in the Swan, or once you get in the parks. They look like credit cards, except they have Disney pictures. (At the Food and Wine Festival last year, they had these on strechy cord-like things, so you could wear them on your wrist.) You decide how much to put on the card, so you can control how much your kids can spend, and you can simply add more to the card later during your trip, if you need to. We found these were easier & faster than dealing with cash for snacks, soft drinks, etc.
