I would think that as long as it's not too scary and/or has any blood, it should be okay.
    Just keep it family friendly.

Besides the fact that it might be too scary (and they frown on that as this is a family event and not Universal's event) I would also be very concerned that it would be way too hot/messy. It's hot and humid and makeup tends to run and get messed up very quickly. Any kind of face make up, even if WDW allowed it, would be a bad idea.

They do free face-painting for MNSSHP. I can't say all the locations for sure, but I know Pete's Paint Shop in Toontown Fair was doing it this year when I was there. But they might just paint you up to look like a kitty cat or something... Not sure what designs they had.

My point is, facepainting is allowed but it really depends how "edgey" it is. I'd suggest no blood or cuts or anything of that kind. Like Shorty said, think Haunted Mansion.

Also, how bad is it they're playing those Universal Horror Night adverts so early on US TV! Could really scare some kids. This is why I prefer Disney...

There was a thread on facepaint makeup at MNSSHP not too long ago. The concensus was that it melts off fast, becomes a big mess, and is generally not a good idea. I don't think there would be a problem with it otherwise.

Mmm does strick me as being messy business.

Why not compromise and use some ladies eye make-up to totally black out round the eyes. I wouldn't think that would melt as fast. I did that once for a halloween party and it looked pretty cool.

Good idea. And, to get a more pale or white face, buy a cheap compact powder at WalMart that is as pale as you can get it, and apply that all over the face. You can even shade a gray eye shadow color under the cheekbones to give a sunken-in look. The powder will last longer (I know, I wear powder foundation all the time during the day/night at the parks and it lasts long), and can be easily touched up during the night. It also won't "run" like the regular Halloween pot makeups.

Allow me at clarify some conceptions on here.

Bad, Halloween make-up you buy from Party City, Spirit, Wal-Mart, and other non-professional costuming stores melts off fast and becomes a sticky mess.

Professional make-up such as Wolf Brothers, Ben Nye, and Mehron do not come off as much. You usually buy these at professional theater companies or costume locations.

Sure, there is some natural breakdown because of the skin's oils but it doesn't become a runny mess of color.

hmmmmm....since I was unable to edit my post (button is missing), I'll just make another....

There is a compact powder by Manic Panic called Vampyre's Veil. It's a pale powder to get that "moon-kissed" look. Can be applied wet or dry. It should be sold in drugstores. I looked it up online, and it looks like it sells for anywhere between $13-$20. Not cheap, but works. I found it in my Glamour magazine this morning.

Manic Panic has a website. Just Google it. They have other pale and white powders available for $16.
