Mug Question - Just Curious...
I am not intending to open the usual can of worms here. I just had a thought, and wondered what the answer was.
Refillable mugs now have on them a statement saying that they are refillable until the end of your stay, and only at that resort.
However, mugs purchased a few years back were not limited to that stay only, however they were for that resort only.
I have some of the old mugs. They were purchased at Dixie Landings, which is now Port Orleans Riverside. So, my question would be, would they still technically be usable at Port Orleans Riverside?
I don't intend to try to use them, and most of the printing has long worn off. I'm just curious.

I'm 99.9% certain that this is Disney's policy:
Old mugs purchased during lifetime refill period are still honored if you have the mugs.
Between the end of lifetime refills and YOAMD, mugs were good for length of stay, only at the resort they were purchased from.
YOAMD mugs are still only good for length of stay, but if you have a resort switch during your stay, you can continue to use the mugs and not have to buy new ones.

I understand.
But, my mug is a resort specific mug. It is printed with "Dixie Landings" on the mug.
There is NO time specific expiration, i.e. length of stay. But the resort technically no longer exists. I can no longer take it to the Dixie Landings Resort, as that resort is now Port Orleans Riverside.
So since it is the same property with a new identity, would my "Dixie Landings" mug still valid at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort?

As it's technically the same resort, with just a name change, I think you would be fine. That would be really splitting hairs .

The Dixie Landings Mug is a fill for life I think. You can still use it.

Yes, the OP's concern was that technically "Dixie Landings" no longer exists, so would it be honored at POR.

No. Other than the mugs purchased I believe prior to 2001, all others fall into the policy of "length of stay". If you look alongside your Pop mugs, you'll probably find the policy still visible on them.

Just looked at my mug from POP and it says "Refillable only at location purchased, free refills until the end of your stay" I got mine in 2006 as well.

I just took a look at my mugs and only one has anything printed on it about the refill policy. It's the mug I purchased a little over a year ago and it has the 'end of your stay' message on it. None of my other mugs have any mention of the refill policy on them, and they are all in nice minty condition so I know the print wasn't rubbed off. Is it safe to assume that these mugs were made during the old refill policy? I know that at least 2 of them were purchased during the old policy but I'm not sure about the others.....and honestly I can't tell which mugs are older and which ones are newer. They all look new.

Just wondering ..how would they know if it's been used before & at what resort because the new ones all look the same ? I don't even have one im just wondering how they could keep track.

I don't want this discussion to turn into a debate, so I'll only say that Disney posts it's policies very clearly and then relies on the integrity of their guests.

I do believe that you can still use your no expiration Dixie Landings mug at POR....at least I've seen people use 'em for years now....go ahead......I don't think it'll be an issue.....!!!!

There are no mug police following you around your resort. You purchased the mug with the understanding it was good for the lifetime of the mug. (we purchased ours back then too..YES..I am aware policy has since changed).
Relax and enjoy your trip.

This really has nothing to do with mug police . The OP had a fair question regarding a resort name that no longer exists and hopefully understands that in their situation, they are well within the guidelines of the policy and can absolutely bring their mug back.

My point was that it doesn't make a difference..Dixie Landing/ Port Orleans...they should not worry about it and enjoy their trip. Just my opinon..I assume I'm still entitled to that?

I just couldn't figure out the "mug police" reference as it seemed to be very contradictary in your post. On one hand, it seems to indicate that they are doing something wrong, but as you pointed out, they are within the policy guidelines. I didn't want to confuse the OP.
