    Default Oh Well

I was all excited. DH and I will be staying at YC from Nov 8 - 15. I called Disney Vacations thinking that if we could receive a credit, I would apply it to upgrading our room, but the very nice reservation specialist checked both YC and BC and said neither resort had availability during those dates for code DGL.
Oh well..we're going to have a grand time anyway!

    Woo hoo!

We just saved almost $700 by switching from POFQ to POR for our trip in November.

We really wanted to try out POFQ...but not for $700. I'll have to stay there next time.

I called just 2 hours after Disney Opened and could only get the discount for part of my stay - if I wanted to split it into 2 reservations. Because the ticket pricing was greatly affected I would have only saved $100. I am sooooo sad. I guess if you snooze you loose.

Glad that it worked out for some of fellow Intercotees though. Congrats to those who were able to take advantage. Maybe the Disney Visa discount will come out soon.

    - Go to this URL to book the discount online. We had to switch from POP to Sports but saved over $700 first week of Dec.

Silly us thought it was just for the value resorts, and since we already had ressies at the WL, didn't think that it would apply to us.

My DH sent the Disney Visa code to Wendy and she sent us back an email that same day. We saved enough to cover our gas money plus - almost $500.

Thanks Wendy. Now the 6 week wait!!!!

Woo hoo! I called my travel agent to tip her off about the discount code (I think will use Magical Journeys next time). I was calling her back to tell here I would be willing to switch to POR from POFQ when I got the good news. I was able to save $393.75 by adding the discount code and stay at POFQ.

    Note to all.....

Do not give up on your favorite resort if you were told the discount code was not available for your resort. I called twice about savings at POFQ (first week in December) and was told that I would have to move to POR to get the savings. I elected not to move. On my third call I was able to use the discount code and stay at POFQ . I saved $422.00!!!

    Default Is there a difference?

    POFQ vs. POR

Is one really more expensive than the other one? I've seen a lot of posts on this thread about how they switched to the other one and saved money.....

    Just wondering....

No - POR & POFQ are both moderates (along with CBR & CSR) and as such have the same room pricing. The upcharges for rooms should be the same too (standard view to waterview or prefered room).

So I think the savings from going from POFQ to POR (or vice versa) simply reflects that for that poster's travel dates, one resort had no rooms at the discounted code promotion and the other did.

I think the savings for a moderate using this code is around $55-60 p/night depending on room type and tax. So if someone is staying 8 nights they might realize a $400+ savings.

But POR and POFQ enjoy same rack rate pricing.

After 5 days of my travel agent fighting with Disney I was able to apply the discount code to my current reservation at the Poly for Oct. 10-15th. The discount saved me $448!!!!!. We have 2 other families traveling with us and the ones staying at Fort Wilderness cabins were able to use the discount code, however the family staying at the WL were not.

Question A little help here, please...

I'm a little upset with Disney. I called my travel agent again to try and get this promotion. They were finally able to do so, but said that Disney is charging a processing fee because I'm "changing" my package. I'm actually getting the exact same thing, but instead of it being called a AAA MYW package it is the Oct-Dec MYW package.

    Does this seem right?
