Has there ever been any hearsay about the Little Mermaid ride featured on the DVD. 'The ride that almost was' made me want to start a petition to get them to build it. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
Next trip - Sep29-Oct4! Free QS dining at POP. First trip with both kids. (6th total visit)

I know what you are talking about. It looks like a cute ride. I'd sign a petition for them to build it!!

Last Trip: November 2015 At POP
Next Trip: May 2017 at POP...again. Unless the FP+ thing isn't worked out. Then we'll go to Dollywood. Or just stay home and look at pictures.
Right now, it's looking like the version at DCA is going to use elements from the showcased ride on the DVD, albeit with a ride system identical to the one found on 'The Seas with Nemo and Friends' at Epcot: clammobiles that always face one direction versus the psuedo-Peter Pan's Flight vehicles shown on the DVD. However, that doesn't mean the version we saw on the DVD won't necessarily wind up at Magic Kingdom if they decide to add the Little Mermaid ride there based on the success of the one at DCA.
On a side note, the building they claim to be building the ride into at DCA is fairly dinky right now. Are they planning to demolish the building and start from scratch? I just can't imagine a very large ride fitting into that tight space.

I'm not so sure that the Little Mermaid "clams" are going to be identical to the Nemo clams. The concept art appears to show very similar looking vehicles, but they may turn out to be omnimovers like HM or "always facing sideways" clams.

They are expanding the building. They are expanding into the restrooms that are attached to the theater (in the San Francisco area) and moving the current restrooms across the "street". I'm not sure if they will also be expanding the building any further in back, although there is some unused space back there.
