Gift Cards/Disney Dollars...

Before I drive an hour to our closest Disney store up here North of the border, I am wondering if any of my fellow intercotees can help me, perhaps save me a useless trip if that is the case.
I would like to turn all the money my DD has saved for our trip ($500.00) into either a gift card or disney dollars. My question is, can they be purchased in Canada before our vacation for use in Disney World. I'm going to assume the answer is no due to exchange rates, etc. I know I have the option of doing something about it when we arrive but I really wanted to travel with the least amount of cash as possible.

I can't help with the exchange rates and such, but our Disney Store has been out of Disney Dollars and Gift Cards since at least April. Call them before you drive there. They don't know when they will get more.
