    Default Downtown Disney

Leaving in 4 days for the World and of course second guessing my plans for the week. We are going for a total of 8 day with 4 adults and 7 kids. I must be out of my mind. Anyway we have never been to Downtown Disney. Is it worth bringing everyone there or should I just stick with the parks?

We usually go here at least once on our week long trip. We like to go at the end of our trip to get those last minute suveniers. We just love looking in all the different shops and always have to eat at Wolfgang Puck Express.

DD is a must do for my family on each trip. There is something to do for everyone at all ages. I hope your group enjoys DD as much as we do.

Def. a must do. There are so many things to do. The shops are great for both adults and kids and the Rainforest cafe is a fav. For my kids. Enjoy your trip!

I agree that it's a must-do...there's something for everyone! There are the stores for shop-a-holics like me in such varieties it seems like you can find anything plus little things mixed in like a water squirting area for the little ones to keep them occupied. Definitely something for everyone to try at least once.

If you or anyone else in your group is a "shopper" then you should visit DTD. I love to wander through the shops. My two favorite ones are THe World of Disney and the Christmas store. There is a candy store for anyone with a sweet tooth (kids love to visit here). We also take the opportunity to eat at the Rainforest Cafe while we're there.
Here's a tip: If you can go during the day it's usually less crowded. The earlier, the better.

Definitely the best shopping in WDW. A must do for us, not a full day but a few hours. The Earl of Sandwich has great sandwiches for lunch and worth a try.

    YES!

Do you have an AP? You get discount at World of Disney store! We put our discount to good use.

Plus touring WoD is fun. Ghiradellia's ice cream RAWKS!! Plus I think they offer AP discount. I know you can get DVC discount there.

Wolfgang Puck at Westside is yummy... As is the Virgin Mega Music Store. Just like WoD it's fun to walk around!

Wolfgang Puck Express at Marketplace has some yummy flatbreads. Earl of Sandwich is good and cheap. The Disney art store has some great paintings.

And so much more...like some awsome Lego creations...

If you've never been to Downtown Disney you gotta go at least once! So why not this upcoming trip?

If you happen to be staying at SSR, Port Orleans or OKW, you can take a fun boat ride from the resort to DTD. Or from SSR, you can take a nice stroll. That's one of our favorite things about staying at SSR.

For us, it's usually the 1st place we go on our 1st day and our last place to go on our last day. Allow yourself at least half a day for DTD.

Like earlier posters, we tend to go once or twice a trip.

Often it's a way to round out a day where we left a park early. We enjoy going for dinner, dessert, some light shopping, or even just a walk.

Take 'em all! if any of the kids like Legos, they have some pretty cool Legos constructions they'll like. Also, if it's hot, there are some nice 'jumping' water things (I don't what else to call them) for the kids to play around in and cool off some. Watch out for Stitch (I think it's Stitch) above one of the entrances to the World of Disney store.

Our last 2 trips we have made it down to DtD. We were staying at POFQ so it was a nice boat ride and we made an afternoon or evening out of it. The shopping is great there and you can definetly get a decent meal. That being said, DD was pretty bored there. She thought the Lego store was ok. (DD was 6 and 7 at the time.) We did do Disney quest our last trip which was pretty fun. (seperate fee to enter unless you have the plus options on your hopper) If you don't have a park pass for every day of your trip it is a good thing to do. (a lot of people to do not get a park pass for their arrival/departure day) If your kids are bored with shopping I would think of skipping it.

Defintely a must! Great food and much entertainment! I agree that the Legos store is a must (even for adults!) As stated earlier, the Legos' displays are PHENOMENAL! More than just constructions...they are sculptures and will really WOW everyone! I have been told there is a Goofy snack store where you can make your own snacks, too. FUN!

    Talking Downtown Disney

DTD is a must for us. We love Goofy's Candy Company. Ghiredellis for ice cream. Sometimes they have outdoor entertainment. It is very colorful. The shopping is unbelieveable. Yes, a must do for everyone.
Keep smiling and Have a magical day!!!
    It's all good.

We love to serve fun, food, and deliciousness.

We love Downtown Disney!! We usually take a relaxing day outside of the parks and spend a good part of the day there. There are great places to eat (Table and Counter Service) and The World of Disney Store is the best selection of park merchandise you'll find. There is also a Christmas store much bigger than the one in MK. We go there every year and get an ornament for our tree for that year.

The last few times we have been to Disney, we have gone to DtD the first night we were there. Since we usually don't go to the parks the first day and just try to visit the resorts and whatnot, this is a nice way to cap the day.

We also try to get there a couple of more times during our trip. It depends on how long we are there but we just enjoy going there.

However, I do remember when I was five and my first time there, I HATED WDW Village or whatever DtD was called in 1976. I couldn't wait to leave there. LOL Don't remember much about it back then except it was a bunch of shops and, as far as I could tell, there were no rides there.
