    Default Carriage Ride

Has anyone ever taken the carriage ride at PO?
Was it worth it? We are thinking of doing this for our anniversary.

The grounds at POR & POFQ are beautiful and I don't think you would go wrong with the carriage ride. A bottle of champagne(if allowed) and an evening ride

Dinner at Boatwrights and then a carraige ride-one of our favorite evenings at WDW. We do this almost every trip. The carraige ride is a very relaxing end to a long day. We've had the ride with our daughters, with our grandchildren, and by ourselves. We love it. Money well spent. The grounds are beautiful and I love listening to the clopping of horse feet on the French Quarter Streets. Enjoy yourself!!!

Never did the carriage ride at PO, but we did at Fort Wilderness. It was nice. We saw some wildlife, had a bottle of champagne and enjoyed our 40 minute ride. Bring the mosquito spray if you go in the spring or summer though!!

My DH surprised me with this on our last trip. It was really nice. They allowed you to bring a bottle of wine or champagne. The gift shop can even open it for you.

My wife and I went for a carriage ride at Port Orleans on our honeymoon in October and we loved it.
Our drive was fantastic, we brought along a bottle of champagne and everybody we saw along the way waved to us.
It was a very relaxing way to spend part of our evening. Afterwards, we went to Jiko at the Animal Kingdom for pistachio creme brulee and coffee.
    It was a great night!!!!

Default Yes It is worth it

I surprized my boyfriend on our last trip (Feb 28- March 4 08). It was very nice and relaxing. We enjoyed the peaceful ride and did get to see PoFQ.
I wanted to go see POFQ but after a few days of park hopping and breaking a toe on my vacation, walking great distance was not on my to do list. It was a great chance to see a little bit of the resort.

Does anyone know the maximum number of people allowed in the carriage? We have four children, 1 who is an infant. Would all six of us fit with two children on laps? I would hate to get the older kids hopes up and then not be able to go.

I just looked in WDW PassPorter and they say up to four adults, or two adults and up to three children. When we went in September, there was myself, DW, DS (13) and DD (10). We were not cramped, but it would have been a little tight with even one more smaller child. We had a wonderful time though! I highly recommend it!

We were told when I made the ressies that we would need 2 carriages ,so that what I booked. Anyway when we got there the driver told us we could go in one. He saved us alot of money. We are 4 adult size people and one 8 yo. The ressie people follow sticker guidlines. Enjoy

Call the main number and tell them you want to book a carriage ride and they will transfer you to the right place. I believe WL also has carriage rides.

Does anyone know if this has to be reserved in advance? Can you do it 'spur of the moment' if they are available?

IF IF IF carriages are available, they will take walk-ups. We have never had luck with this, but we have made resy's the nite before. I believe the cost in January was $35 plus tip. That is per carraige not per person.
