What do you think is a fair percentage? I see 18%, 15%, 12%. I know that you base it on service but I was wanting to poll everyone to see what you think.

    Default 20% for us

I know it's traditionally different in different parts of the country but in NY it's 20%.

I usually tip 20% of the bill and then round up. If the bill was 112.00 I would add 11.20 plus 11.20 for a total of 22.40 and then round up to 25.00 for the tip OR make it a round amount for the total bill (in which case I might make the tip 23.00 for a total amount of 135.00). It just depends on how I want to do the math but it's usually over 20%.

I usually figure out the 20% plus add the change that makes it an even dollar amount. Ex. If with 20% tip the bill came to 113.45, I would be sure to add the 55 cents to make it an even 114. I know, I'm strange.

....in general...20% is my rule, and is also pretty much the standard here in Jersey. But this is not to say that I won't tip more if the service is extraordinary.

We always do a standard of 20%.

I won't hesitate to leave more if the service warrants but it would have to be horrendous for me to leave less.

I waited tables to pay my way through college so I know how hard servers work. I always tip 20% or more. The only time I tip less is if I get bad service when the server only has 1 or 2 tables and is just standing around talking.

At Disney I never tip less than 20%.

We're also 20% tippers...sometimes more if its FANTASTIC...I know standard is 15% but we only tip that if the experience was horrible...

We tend to overtip good service and service at the Disney restaurants we frequent is usually excellent. We are certainly tip according to the quality of the service. If the service is nonexistent, so will be the tip.

20% is my norm, but if the service is mediocre, I don't feel bad leaving only 15%.

20 percent is our norm. I assume when I go out to eat that the service is going to be excellent. If it isn't, the tip comes down accordingly.

We tip 20% and round up to the nearest whole dollar amount if that makes sense. The only time I've tipped 15% that I can recall was for horrible service. I was a server for several years in high school, and I recall how much work it was.

While at Disney we usually tip 20% and round up to the nearest dollar - unless service is superior and warrants some extra $$$ for our great experience.

20% is the amount we usually save each TS meal when utilizing our DDE membership card, so we'd just add back in the savings as tip. However, now that Disney is automatically adding 18% when utilizing the DDE, I may just go with their automatic figure (unless service is superior-not just good).

For average service, 18% is plenty. For above average service, I will leave more. For subpar service, I will leave less. I was raised to believe we get what we earn. At WDW I have discovered that service is almost always at or above what I expect! I love this place!
