    Default Late April or January?

We were thinking of going to WDW next January for DD's 8th bday but the weather is so iffy. The kids LOVE to swim and that might be a no go. How is late April for crowds and what not. Would it be worth paying regular season for the better weather? Would the crowds be much worse? We went the week of Memorial Day 2 years ago and the crowds were managable till Thurs or Friday, then it got rough, not to mention HOT!

January weather if very iffy. As you get away from Easter and into early May, crowds are generally quite manageable and it's definitely warm enough to swim!

Agreed. January weather is very iffy. You could have warm days, or you could have "need a winter coat" days.
Of course, when we were kids, (our Disney vacations were always in January) we would just swim anyway. The year we stayed at the Poly, my mom sat by the pool (literally) with her winter coat on while my sis and I swam our hearts out. The pools are heated after all, and kids just don't seem to mind as much.

Personally, I think January is a good time to go. And if that is when your DD's birthday is, I say go in January. But that's just my

I agree with "chick". I am planning a trip in January (for crowd control reasons) and I am also hoping the weather will be nice enough to be able to use the pool a few times. I am sure the kids will want to go in no matter what the tempature. Last time we went it was late Nov. and although the days were beautiful, the nights were quite cool. I remember going swimming with the kids at night (after we left the parks) and freezing my butt off getting out of the water, but loving being in it. Also depending on where in the country you are coming from, Cold weather to southerners, doesn't seem to bother us northerns nearly as much! Being from the NE I know that no matter what, chances are it will be warmer in Disney then here at home.

Late April is our favorite time to be at WDW !

Great weather, managable crowds, and we've never experienced any rain.

Good luck with your decision abd happy planning !

I was there in from Jan 5-12 and the weather was great! Warm during the days and only a light jacket at night. I know sometimes it can be cold there, but you might luck out like we did!
