Resort Info
Can I get some of you wonderful intercotee's to share some info? I have only ever stayed at POR, with our fam of 5. We have an add on this year and need two rooms. I have an awesome rate, but it's at Pop Century. I've never done a value and I understand that they are very busy and not very relaxing. POR seems to be the ultimate in giving off the relaxing "feel". I just need some feed back on Pop, as to what it's all about, eg. food, busses..etc.....thanks so much and I can't wait to hear from you !!

I would have to agree that POP is very busy and not very relaxing. Also, the buses from the parks are always very packed. What if you did POFQ? It's smaller and quieter and the buses are not crazy like the POP buses. Just a suggestion.

If two rooms at a moderate are out of your price range Pop is an ok choice. I think it's nicer than the other values. It is busy but the buses don't share with other resorts so that's nice. I have never waited long for a bus there but have had to stand quite often on the buses. The food court is quiet if you go early in the morning but is noisy and crowded for the rest of the day. It is relaxing around the Hour Glass lake I like to take a walk back there and there are benches you can watch the fish and birds. I usually spend most of my time at the parks when I am staying at PC but I have gone back to the room and taken naps and hung out at the pool. If a deluxe isn't in my price range at the time I get the itch to take a trip to Disney I don't have any problems staying at PC.

If I had to chose a value, POP would be it. However, after staying other places, I'd rather not unless it was for financial reasons. The grounds are just OK, everything is loud and the buses are always packed. I like a more relaxed vacation. Just my

We have only stayed at A.S.Sports and A.S.Movies. Both were ok. The only thing that really bugged me was that the busses were VERY crowded all the time and they never had enough of them for the crowds we were in! I would stay w/ your POR or POP simply for the fact that the resorts hold less people! The atmosphere at both values was typically family friendly and kid oriented which was what we were looking for! Have a great trip no matter where you choose!

We love Pop! Yes, the buses are crowded, but the bus service was so much better than it was for our last trip at CBR.
It can be loud and crazy around the food court and the hippy dippy pool, but all of the kids are out there having a blast. If you want a quiet environment, there are plenty of them around the resort. You can talk a walk by Hour Glass Lake, watch fireworks from the back of the 50's buildings, relax by one of the quiet pools, etc.
We stayed in the 70s section the first time we were there. My 2-year old nephew loved the water fountains. We got some great pics with goofy carrying the surfboard and the red car there. There was a twister game. They have a playground for the younger ones. My kids (older) loved the arcade. \
The times we've stayed there since were in the 50's section. One time I requested the 50's. The rest were just because we were assigned there. I like the 50's because I can get a drink at the pool bar and go sit and watch the fireworks. The quiet pool and laundry facility are right there too.
For me, the ultimate in relaxation was the Fort Wilderness Cabins. It was so quiet and peaceful there. I loved sitting out at the table in the morning and evening listening to the wildlife away from all the hustle and bustle.
I'll meet you at the Rainbow Bridge.

I've stayed at PC four times and found it's what you choose to make it. If you prefer a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere, select a room that doesn't overlook a pool.
The food court is good, but can be crazy at the normal meal times. If you eat a little earlier or later, you'll be fine. There's a reasonable selection of entrees, particularly for dinner. I'm a horrendously picky eater, and I actually discovered I liked most of four dinner entrees that I decided to try. There's too much food for me, anyway, so the part I didn't like wasn't a big loss! *LOL*
The only issue I had with PC buses was at park closing, especially the trip last December. They sent some private buses (which was great--it relieved the congestion considerably) and they did not have handicapped/disabled access. Mind, I usually neither of these things. I just happened to injure both legs two days before our WDW visit, so I couldn't use stairs until about our last two days. I either used a kneeling bus or the wheelchair lift.
To their credit, WDW did send a final bus with handicap access. There were two families with wheelchairs/scooters and--moi! *LOL*
Otherwise, while I may have to wait for a bus at park closing or other busy times to ensure a seat, that's my choice. No issue there, at all.

Thanks to all who have responded...I think, maybe, we've decided on two rooms at POR...I just can't seem to "cheat" on that resort. I really do think Pop would be just fine, I'm just so used to POR.....I'd hate to miss out on breakfast at Boatwrights.
