My family isn't really into Mexican food, but we tried this:

    Plato Mexicano
Grilled beef taco, chicken enchilada and quesadilla with onions and peppers served with refried beans, guacamole and rice - $13.95

And it was very good. It wasn't spicy at all, I didn't need my tums after all. This was lunch. We did this one OOP and used TS credits for dinner elsewhere, because after about 4 hours, we were all hungry again. It just didn't stick with us.

Okay, we LOVE San Angel Inn. We always do ADR for Lunch, because it's less expensive.

I got the Mexican Plate, but that wasn't spicy.

But DON'T dip the nachos in the salsa before you get your drinks...

My wife and I can't stand it...but that's probably because we eat really good and authentic Mexican food every week.
You mention an important point, and I always have this discussion with others on the boards.

Since we all reside in different part of the country, it's sometimes very difficult to make an accurate restaurant recommendation in Walt Disney World, especially for the supposedly ethnic places.

Whenever a thread about Nine Dragons or any of the Italian eateries pop up, I and several others immediately criticize the restaurant, telling the original poster to try somewhere different. I'm from Westchester Country, a nice suburb about 20 minutes from New York City. Obviously, I can find considerably better Chinese than Nine Dragons on my local street corner for more than half the cost. However, there are people on these boards who don't have that luxury and see Nine Dragons as authentic and delicious Chinese.

Are they wrong? Not necessarily. It all depends on perspective.

Gator, I totally understand why you would consider San Angel Inn inauthentic and disappointing because you have incredible Mexican cuisine outside your door. I probably would think Epcot's version is delicious.

So when making and reading restaurant reviews, consider were you're from. Always read the other poster's location bar. A person's hometown tells could tell a lot about his food tastes.

And now back to the regularly scheduled thread.

Well put Jared... I feel the same way about the Italian restaurants in WDW... I can get great Italian food here in NY/NJ..... The Italian food I had in WDW was bland to me... So, I stay away from those restaurants.... Same with Nine Dragons... I get delicious Chinese food at home, so I avoid Nine Dragons... However, Mexican food isn't very popular around here so San Angel Inn was a place I thought I would try... And actually, I can get decent German food in NJ as well, yet, I loved Biergarten... Go figure....

TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...

BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

I do believe that this was the worst meal I have ever had...ANYWHERE!!! The restaurant was nice and the waiter we had mad it ugly...I ordered pork...The table that we sat at was very dark and I guess that is becuase they dont want you to see what you are eating...I was served a plate full of pork fat...no meat...just fat...I asked to send it back and he told me no!!! Hands down the worst experience EVER!!!
