Thanks Nanc! I am assuming that these changes go into effect Jan 1,2008?

We are thinking about going Jan 1-Jan 8 2008. I put my dates in for room only at Pop to see what the price is and it is still $82 per night. Anybody check the mods or deluxes? I was really thinking about WL since we are going in Value season but my daughter really wants Pop.

I know that we will not be doing the DDP again because of the removal of the tip inclusion. This makes it about 15 - 20% more per day and that is not worth it for us. I am not happy that they did this Oh well, it's DDE from now on
-
You've touched on the dining plans, with thanks, do you know what the room rates are going to be? Thanks!!

Taking away grat. incl. will change my mind on the dining plan. I enjoyed not having to have money on me when we went to the parks. I would rather have fast foods instead anyway. Why would they do this.

I am sure Nanci and the agents at Magical Journeys are really busy changing over existing reservations for current clients. I am sure when they have a moment they will provide more details.

That's how I read it too. Don't get me wrong, we have more than enough food with the entree and the dessert, but it's fun to try things that we normally wouldn't otherwise. That's what you're supposed to do on a vacation, right?
-
Going as fast as we can! LOL

You can still get an appetizer if you want, the only difference now is that you must pay for it out of pocket.
-
I am wondering if it is worth the price with no app and tax not included. I know that it is still a good deal, but without the DDP we wouldn't do as many TS meals and would proabably save money in the long run... I'm very disappointed in Disney.
-
Yes they have removed the appetizer and the tip.

Sorry to be bombarding you with questions - could you list the 2008 prices for each of the DDP packages?
Am I right in assuming they are trying to get everyone to do the deluxe now to get the appetizer?
-
Well, that makes it somethign to think about now. We used to split a TS credit- with one of us ordering an appetizer as an entree, I guess they were on to us.
I wish we could do dessert OR appetizer instead.

Pricing depends on resort, party size etc. I can tell you they dropped the price on the basic dining plan by $1.
Bear with us as we get all the info put together in a legible form.

Differences in the dining plans
It appears that the basic DDP is the same as last year - 1 snack, 1 CS and 1 TS per person - no appetizer or dessert and tip is extra.
The deluxe dining plan is 3 meals - does not indicate if these are CS or can be all TS and 2 snacks - again, no appetizer or dessert and tip is extra. (At least there is no mention of appetizer or dessert).
Would like to know more detail around the deluxe dining plan (price, etc.)
I would rather go with the deluxe dining plan as our family loves to have a sit down breakfast as well as a sit down dinner every day and a light CS lunch. If there is no dessert. the 2 snacks make up for that
Let the magic begin.....!!!

The deluxe dining plan says that you can use your meals for TS or CS, whichever you prefer. It also says that there is an appetizer and dessert including with each meal (I'm assuming each TS meal). Tax is not included.
I'm interested in hearing pricing for myself. I think that we would probably either skip DDP or do the deluxe package now.
