We will be at DLR the week before Halloween and I was just wondering what speical events take place this time of year? Do they change the parades/fireworks? Is there a MNSSHP like at WDW?

Disneyland has done an event similar to MNSSHP. I have never attended and don't really no the details about it.
The park of course is decorated for the season. The Haunted Mansion is changed during this time through Christmas. The special Halloween decorations in Haunted Mansion Holiday, based on Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas" The entire attraction is transformed, and it is really something to see. Almost all the characters are replaced, and a special soundtrack is used.
In Frontierland's Big Thunder Ranch, they have had Woody’s Halloween Roundup, which features seasonal-themed activities, including live animals in a "Petting Boo," cookie decorating, sing-alongs and appearances by Woody, Jessie and Bullseye from the Toy Story movies.
