I'm not remembering many of the names yet, but that first guy(Candaras?) was a humongous cheeseball. I think he could go home. I think the worst one of the night was the barefoot guy. He didn't sing well in his auditions. He sounded awful in Hollywood. I can't believe he made it to the stage, and he was a bad karaoke rendition of Wham there, too. I'll be surprised if he moves on much further.

I bailed after the first hour -- one of the big problems seemed to be technical. Did anyone else actually have a problem hearing the guys singing? The balance was off and the music was way too loud. At first, I figured the first guy wasn't singing loud enough, but when the judges didn't nail him on it I began to wonder. Then they were all hard to hear. What was up with that?
But yes, it was Booooring. No one was very interesting. Felt like Karaoke night.

I like Chris Sligh, Nick Pedro, Blake.
I agree that for some reason, last night just seemed strange. It didn't seem like the 6th season. For some reason, it sounded karoke, (the background music). I think the first guy is going.

Got to watch some last night, I like Chris, Phil and Nick. Some of them were boy band cutouts. Sanjay reminds me of Leif Garrett!

WOW !!!!! Stephanie just lit it up and showed she is in the running to be the next American Idol ! She just blew all the guys off the stage from last night.
This was the best performance I've seen on this show in a couple of years !

We've discussed this before, and even held a vote, and majority decided that it's fine to discuss if the show has aired on the east coast.
If you are in a different time zone and wish to avoid spoilers, it is suggested you don't visit the thread until you've viewed the show.
Thanks all!

All in all the girls were much better than the boys for sure. I'm still miffed at how god-awful some of the boys were. Google "Tom Lowe American Idol" to see a great guy who didn't get through...and Barefoot boy does? Please.

My family did too, I also really like Melinda and Stephanie. After last night I was able to narrow it down to the 6 girls I would like to see make it into the final 12. The guys, I didnt really see any of them shine through.

Hi Melanie,
Wasn't trying to make anyone feel uncomfy -- I had read the start of the spoilers thread here on intercot and it seemed to be saying the exact opposite, that we weren't supposed to say. And I hadn't visited the thread, I got a notification in my box . I actually get the show at the same time as the east coast because I live 18 miles west of CST, so I had seen it, I just thought we were supposed to post a spoiler warning, that's all. I'll go read the whole thread, I guess, so I can figure out what the rules are. Sorry if I offended anyone!

I was going to bail on AI based on the boys' night, but Stephanie brought my interest back to life, and then Sabrina, and WOW! Lakisha was awesome!
Looks like they got the sound issues worked out, the gals weren't getting drowned out by the music (which was overpowering on boys' night).

Wow!
Can't believe no one has mentioned Gina yet! I thought that she was "spot on" and her personality really hits with me too. She reminds me of me Congrats to the girls for really stepping it up!
