I'm nearing 36 now (end of this week!) and suddenly I've noticed that if I wear my mary jane Crocs all day, I have horrible heel pain. As in, can't walk at all by the end of the day.

I walk way more after moving to NZ than I did in the US, and I'm guessing I need shoes with more support. That tends to be in the form of sneakers (I usually wear Brooks), but yeah...I don't really like the look of sneakers with my shorts or capri pants.

The mary jane style seems to fit me best, but in the end I"m really looking for a shoe that is supportive, I can wear without socks, I can wear on water rides, and that won't kill me when my feet expand - which they always seem to do in humidity (no matter how much water I ingest during the day!!). Oh, and to top it off, I have wide feet, so the shoe would have to come in wide sizing.

Recommendations? Thanks, everyone!
