    Default What is a Cutie?

What is a cutie pin? I have seen the term used on the boards but do not know what they are. Any info about them (or other types of pins to look out for) would be appreciated.

Here is an example of a Mickey Mouse cutie pin. Generally they are the characters with oversized heads.

They are like Disneys version of SAN RIO or Hello Kitty!

Thanks for the info-they must be new? Are they "legal" to trade?

Yes, they are official Disney pins, so they are fine to trade.

That's interesting, just because the Hello Kitty/Sanrio thing is HUGE in Japan, not China.

Don't tell that to Disney Marketing.

I believe I do stand slightly corrected, though. I looked up their launch and the first two lines were in April 2005.

I think my first comment confused the launch with a later release, but still something "cutie" related was released with the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland.

    Default Love Cuties!

I just got back from my first WDW trip in 31 years (yes, the last time I was there was for the Bicentennial!). Anyway, I didn't know about pin trading until last week, but was a fan of the Cuties art style (first saw it on zazzle.com) so I bought all the Pooh characters (Pooh, Eyore, Tigger, and Piglet): one with all of them in a woodland setting, one each in the bobble-head style, and one each just their faces. For now I will stick with Cuties as my pin trading category to prevent going crazy on everything else!

Actually, the cuties have been out a few years now. We think they are ugly. We trade them for other ones.
