Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

This year it’s different for me. In early September I was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. It was in my right kidney surrounding the ureter. The only option was to remove the kidney and ureter. Unfortunately there are cancer cells in the margins. I will begin radiation therapy shortly. Just waiting for the call. That will last for 6 weeks. Fun times.

Before my surgery I had to send my sweet girl to live with my father in heaven. It really was her time. I miss her, but it was total hospice care in the end.

In spite of all that’s gone on, I’m grateful to still be alive. I’m grateful to my daughter and her fiancé. They have been a big help and support. I’m grateful for my three furry nurses, who stay by my side. I’m grateful for the medical team who are helping me to kick cancer to the curb. I’m most grateful to God and his Son and all the prayers and blessings I have received.

So yes!!! Happy Thanksgiving this year.

What are you grateful for this year?
