I usually plan my own DW vacations, been so many times. So why is it that when I go on the Disney site they won't let me check on the pricing for a vacation for March 2017? It is within the year
My understanding has always been that there is no difference between room-only and package pricing when it comes to availability on the website. Packages are merely the room plus tickets. Neither component is cheaper as a package vs. individual pricing. Packages can't be released until the room pricing is loaded into the system. If the prices aren't loaded, it doesn't show on the website.
You can always call and book a room up to 499 days in advance. But the price you will be quoted will be the current pricing for that room type. If you go that route, you'll be asked to pay the difference in price once the next year's pricing is released. You can also convert the room-only (they won't let you book a package if the pricing hasn't been released) to a package once pricing is available.
