Summary of Trip 2/2-2/9
Stayed at POFQ with a 5 day pass, no dining plan.
Other than some cold weather, we had a really great visit. There was a lot of construction going on in the parks, and at the resort, but the lighter crowds made up for it. Had great meals at Le Cellier, Sci Fi Dine In, Ohana, and Via Napoli. I have to say, I was also pretty impressed at some of the counter service food that we had this trip. I have not eaten and Pinoccio's Village Haus in years. We were in a time pinch and ordered their new pizza's. I have to say, that the Caprese flat bread there was better than I expected.
Attractions all seemed to be running well, with only a couple of short delays. The best attraction experience that I had was the 7 dwarf mine train. I have to validate that by saying I had a fast pass and did not have to wait for 70+ minutes. But overall, I thought the ride was great. I had heard so much hype about how short it was, but while short it did not seem like it was unreasonably short compared to most tomorrowland attractions. Also, the swinging car was a very nice experience. I give it two thumbs up.
I did have some challenges with DME on my phone. For some reason it just lost my reservation, halfway through the week, and would not let me sign back in. My wife's phone was fine and online was great. It was just on my phone.
Lastly, we were there durring the high school cheer championships. While we did experience some drunk chaperones, I thought the young people were very thoughtful, polite and well behaved. Too frequently we here the negative about todays youth, but I have to tell you I was very impressed at these young people. They were kind to my kids, polite in lines, noisy at times, but very well behaved overall. So a shout out to them. I would never let the cheer competition deter you from going to Disney.
It was a very nice trip, and I am looking forward to going again soon.

Thanks for your report. As a 32 year veteran of working with High School aged kids I agree with your assessment; kids are usually polite and fun to be around!

We tried Pinocchio's last time for the first time in a long while too and thought it the same thing! Much better than we remembered. We agree about the Mine train too - it's really cute - as long as you have a fast pass!
