I know you get fastpass or tickets for the actors but how does the characters work? What characters are available and is it autographs or just photos?

FP is not an option for the meet-and-greet characters. And there are autographs (I believe all can sign).

Off the top of my head, characters that appear include:
    Luke and Leia
    Anakin
    Darth Vader
    Chewie
    Boba Fett
    Jango Fett
    Shaak Ti
    Mace Windu
    Darth Maul
    Asoka
    Jawas
    Tusken Raiders
    Storm Troopers
VIPs in outfits (Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Darth Goofy, Trooper Donald, Ewok Chip and Dale)

I'll have to go through my pictures to think of more

the characters you just get in line and wait and wait. Keep in mind that the characters change every so often. You might be in line with Boba Fett but before you get up to the front of the line it switches to Jango. Several character spots are like that. Because there's so much waiting in line at SWW we made a weekend of it. One day we did characters only. The next day we did shows and actors. With the huge crowds it is absolutely impossible to do it all in one day.

Our two longest lines ever at Disney World (and we tour in the busy summertime) are:

    1) Meet and Greet with Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine
    2) Lines to get into the shop to purchase the Disney Star Wars collector pins

Can't stress enough - if you are looking to meet specific characters, find a cast member (usually in a Star Wars event shirt) who will have a schedule of what characters, where they will be located, and what beginning times they will be there. Oftentimes you will find CMs who do not have that schedule, so keep pressing on until you find one who does.

SOOOO worth it, as we have incredible photos over the years, but it does make for a very long day.

A few other characters off the top of my head:

    Queen Amidala
    Aura Seng
    Gammorean Guard
    Zam Wessel
    Carol (aka KylesMom)

That reminds me - the line for the Darth Mall is usually shorter later in the day. Definitely don't try to hit it first thing in the morning or you could be looking at a 3-4 hour wait to get in.

Thanks I have the disney encyclopedia of characters for my kids and I was going to see if there is one for Star Wars Characters if they sign. I couldnt figure out if it was standard wait in line situation or have to get there at 2am for a ticket thing. We will technically be in the world for 5 days of SWW. We are going to devote 1 day just to the event plus we are going to go a couple of those other days. I may get my son to give me a top 5 character list and anyone else we can see would be a bonus.
