Does Universal have a Christmas party on certain nights? and is it listed anywhere? I Couldn't find it.
Have A Magical Day-1970-1989-offsite, 2002-DLR, 2003-DLR, 2005-Sports, 2007-All Music, 2008-POP, December 12-21 2009-Pop, January 16-18, 2010-Disneyland. Disney Sports-Feb 1-6, 2012, Disneyland-December 7 and 8, 2012, DIsney Pop-Feb 1-5, 2013 (my son's first trip.)
Universal has holiday festivities, but no separately ticketed events like Disney.
They add Grinchmas celebrating, as the title name indicates, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" with a live stage show, meet and greet and newly decorated park areas. This is part of the Islands of Adventure guest experience usually starting the first Saturday in December. You can, however, eat breakfast with the Grinch (looks just like Jim Carey did in the live action version) for about $25 for adults and something like, $10 for kids.
Then, the Studios host a portion of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade replete with giant balloons, performances and a big finish with Santa. I believe this still occurs at park closing. There is also a little holiday village that goes up in the New York area. Again, included with park admission. Universal Studios also frequently tweaks the kids Barney show and the Blues Brothers performances to reflect holiday music.
