Illuminations FP+ viewing area

Has anyone done this since the dessert party started?

Both say the reserved area is in the plaza between the two shops at the entrance to WS...

We did a grand gathering which was a dessert party in the same location. Viewing was good if not too crowded. It's standing room only, which I don't like...like to eat sitting. We may try in December.

We did the Illuminations Fast Pass last month. It is in the area between the two stores and so is the dessert party. Basically they take the space and separate it into two areas. Those with fastpass+ enter in one area - those for the dessert party in another.

For the fastpass+ side, I can honestly say I could probably have found a like/better spot with about the same amount of waiting time. (If you arrive later, I'm not so sure you have really good viewing - I saw folks 5-7 people deep along the fences once the show started).

Thank you. I was just wondering how it worked since the fast pass and dessert part are sharing the same area. Splitting it into two sides makes sense.
