Magic bands..
I'm so confused by these stupid bracelets..
So you don't get a paper ticket anymore? I see now offsite guests can get them..(didn't know they couldn't) but they have to pay extra?!? Do people staying on property have to pay extra?
Also I was just reading an article from some Disney related website..and I got confused when they said you can make dining reservations 60 days out? I thought it was 180 days out..
I've been a little out of the Disney loop on what's going on since having my second daughter..so I'm really confused on all this..
Thanx in advance to whoever explains it for me

I used the magic band for the first time this past December and really like the fact that I did not need to get out the plastic card to get into my room, into the parks, or pay for meals.
Your entire vacation will be on the band including your fast passes. I think it helps reduce some of the stress of the vacation there.
Hope this helps..
Itchy for another trip

Remember, the magic band and the park ticket you get DO THE SAME THING.
The magic band just allows you to wear the "ticket" instead of having to reach into your pocket for it.
It's a convenience thing.

Ok..thanx guys..
I knew I must of read that article wrong..I' know it's be 180 days out for a while now..good to know I'm not going crazy..lol..
I've yet to go with the magic bands yet (obviously) but I can already say I like the paper ticket better..that bracelet is gonna be annoying..
Can you still get a regular ticket? Do you HAVE. To wear the bracelet the whole day?

If you are an AP holder (annual pass) you still get a card... as far as I have read here.. (I've been out of the world for 7 years.. I'm catching up too) On site guest just get the band.
You don't have to wear them... they are like a wrist watch... you NEED it to get in your room and enter parks... It works like a credit card also for purchases.. To doo that you need to assign a 4-digit pin number to the band . Have you set up your My Disney Experience account yet? MDE..... if not you need to do that...FIRST... it ties all your information, reservations, fast pass selection together and it comes with a free Smartphone App to allow you to see/change items at the park on the fly.... Hope this helps good luck

We found the bands to be quite comfortable, and not a hinderance at all. You may be surprised how much you'll like them.
I'm a fanatic about outfits and accessories and being coordinated, even while in the parks, and even I didn't mind wearing mine. I got the pink and added a couple Tink "charms" to it. I didn't wear it when we went to nice dinners at the resorts. I just kept it in my purse.

We went in February and I thought they were great! I didn't find them to be annoying even in the heat. It was so much easier.
My brother also used them with his 6 year old and 3 years old twins and had no issue with the kids wearing them.
Have fun!

I guess I'll see how they are in Dec..I was fine with a regular ticket though. Lol
Also..I'm looking up park tickets now..they got rid of no expiration?!?

Me too. I'm all for convenience, and I can learn to like the bands, but what I don't care for is how it seems like it's necessary to micromanage your entire vacation from months out. Luckily I have been many times and generally travel at non peak times, so hopefully this will not present a huge problem. Time will tell...I'm probly overthinking it all
