Stressing About Weather Now!!!

I am a worrier, and I always get nervous about this close to a trip, hoping nothing goes wrong. Now the cold weather, which is usually not an issue here, is possibly going to complicate things! I don't think I will have problems with plane taking off next week, but that chain reaction cancellation thing may be in full effect, plus we have to travel on bridges to get to the airport...Praying for warmth and sunshine! This is not supposed to be happening!

Don't worry! Soon you will see the WDW sign and all your troubles will be over. (That usually does it for me!)

Anything beyond 7 days is voodooland and not worth even looking at. Less than that we have a decent idea. But, you also can't trust any of the "fill-in-your-zip-code" sites because they have no human interaction. Keep a check on the forecast page here on Intercot (it is going to be chilly by Florida standards down here next week with some rain possible) for WDW weather and if you need to know about somewhere else just ask in that thread. I was tied up all day today and didn't get to update the forecast, but I will in the morning.

Yes, try to keep calm and carry on.

You can make yourself crazy, but it's pointless to worry about what you can't control. Chances are everything will work out. Instead, thinking about what you can control might help, your packing list, confirming reservations... Best wishes!

You are both so sweet! I didn't really even expect responses--I was just kind of freaking out myself, lol. Good advice!!! I'm packed, but I could straighten. And I still have a "to do" list that I need to finish, sooo...

We are in the same boat! We leave next saturday out of Providence and we are hoping there are no weather glitches. We have another round of snow coming in today but not much in the week's forecast thankfully. try to not stress, soon you'll be in the warm Disney sun

Mother Nature being a primary thing I can't control.

Yes, good sound advice. Hard to do!!! I know I'm trying to "will" it not to sleet/ice/snow, and I am aware I have no say in the matter! lol.

I keep accuweather open on my computer. With all the places we travel (lake Buena vista, FL, Miami, FL, NC & Tennessee) yeah we don't travel that often and that far..lol But I can tell you this app is always the most accurate for me. I do look at it sometimes too early and get freaked out on what the weather might be, but as it gets closer I compare it to my hometown weather and it's always seems to be right on (give or take a little) also I always look at the following week. I seem to think weather moves one day closer and that’s how I see where the rain, snow, sunshine etc. will be. on your state that you get great weather to travel in…

You shouldn't be freaking out. There is not a thing that you can do about weather. January and February are the worst months for snow on the East Coast every year. Just take things as they come.....you will get there and enjoy your vacation much more without the stress.

Thank you for the pixiedust! I have cried half the day today, cause things are not looking good. I know Florida will be be fine if we can just GET there. Our officials are quick to shut everything down here at the drop of a hat (it's campaign time), and I am sooo afraid that we are not going to be able to reach the airport. Called Southwest today and was slightly encouraged, but....Stress rapidly turning to distress.

I can't tell where you live but if they shut everything down consider getting into your car and driving even if it takes you a day or two.

...saw someone else suggest that on another thread with similar concerns ( a while ago) when there was a storm in the North East.

.....crazy thing is ...the deep south is getting messed up pretty good today / tomorrow with ice / snow storms. (saw a big pile-up reported on a highway near Austin on this morning's news!!)

...of course ..it's feels like 4 degrees outside my window now!! ....guess it's global warming rearing its ugly head? It's been a brutal winter ...so far.

I feel your pain! First I was stressed because they were saying a storm when we are supposed to leave...now they're saying MAJOR storm on the day we are supposed to fly home!!! DS16's school isn't very understanding and has told me any days missed after 5 (originally planned) the work WILL NOT be counted. I asked Chris and I am feeling a little better now...but eesh!! When did I get so stressed out about a little snow!?!?!?
