Question Oct cruise - Which ship?

After numerous trips to WDW, my DH and I are considering a disney cruise. (Our 11 yo DS is dying to take a cruise. )

We are looking at Oct break for our trip. My question is should we take the Dream with a stop in Nassau, Castaway Cay and a day at sea or should we take the Wonder with a stop in Nassau and 2 days at Castaway Cay?

    Please give me your thoughts!

Tough Choice!!!!! Dream is a great ship, lots for an 11 yr old to do. Wonder is older but with 2 Castaway days is a great itinerary.

I do have a fondness for the older ships though (smaller more personal) I think for a first cruise I may choose Wonder with 2 CC days and save the newer bigger ship for cruise #2.

    Either would be great really!

Dream. October is an iffy month, weather wise. It is possible you could miss out on one of the castaway cay days. If you ens up in bad weather, the Dream is a more interesting ship to be on, IMO. Your 11 year old will love the Aquaduck!

We have done two cruises both on the Dream. It is a beautiful ship but this September we will be taking another cruise and will be on the Wonder. We loved the idea of two days at Castaway Cay. We will be on a 5 day cruise, one day at Key West, two at Castaway, and one day at Nausa. Hoping we will enjoy the Wonder as much as we enjoyed the Dream. It seems, like with everything else related to Disney, you have those who like the older ships better and those that would go on nothing else but the new ships. I am going with an open mind and hoping for a great vacation.

Two stops on their Island for sure. As stated, there a possibility of weather impacting your stop, it's nice to have two shots. Comparing the Dream to the Magic (I know you said Wonder) is kind of apples to oranges. The spaces on the Magic were much, much smaller than the Dream. The Magic was also showing her age.

Service I though was better (slightly) on the Magic as well. Food better (again slightly) on the Dream.

Tough choice... I think I'd go Wonder though...

I'm with Nanci- the smaller ships are dearer to my heart for sure! I vote Wonder.

We have been on both ships twice. Every cruise has been in October and always had great weather, not even a drop of rain. Both ships are very very nice. We loved the Dream's water coaster BUT Castaway Cay is wonderful and two days there beats out the very small difference between each ship. At least in my mind. I would go for the two days at Castaway.
