    Default Which tablet to buy?

I am wanting to purchase a tablet and would like opinions on which one between the Galaxy Tab 3 and the Nexus7.
I will mainly just use it for Internet and checking emails and facebook and some games.
Right now I use my iPod touch but it is too small for my old eyes to see very good anymore.
I want to stay around the $200 price.
    Your opinions are appreciated.

I've never used either -I have an iPad. But after doing a quick search "Galaxy Tab 3 or Nexus 7", it is pretty clear that for an extra $25 or so the Nexus is a much better tablet.

I have a Galaxy Tab 2. It is smaller like the iPad mini. I like it, it takes good pictures and does what I need. That said, I see an iPad mini in my future for Christmas just want a different operating system.

I am not familiar with either of those tablets. I do have a Kindle Fire HD that I use for the same purposes you are looking for. I have had it for almost a year and it has served its purpose very well. I believe it was $199.

I have a Galaxy Tab, as does my 15 year old son. We love them. We also all have Galaxy phones, so we appreciate that the tablets are similar to the phones which we are used to.

I've got an Nexus 7, it's pretty nice. I'm not sold though on Android on a tablet. Phones is one thing, tablets is another IMHO. I still use my iPad more than the Nexus.

You won't get into iOS at the $200 price point however.

I think you'll get better support (firmware, etc) going with a Google appliance than someone else. I'm already running 4.3 on my Nexus, it came out the day after it announced. If it weren't for XDA-DEVELOPERS I'd sill probably be running ICS on my phone.

From those 2 choices , Nexus 7 hands down. Wait to see what Apple announces next week though.

We got DD a Nexus 7 for Christmas last year for the purposes you list.

I ended up purchasing one for myself as a birthday present in March.

And then one for DS this summer.

We love them! The screen is a nice size for reading and games. I'm watching Planet Earth on DD's tablet as we speak

We're not Apple people, so I can't compare to iPads and such. But I love the versatility to my laptop.

Im a Macintosh guy....Ipad is the only way to go!!
iOS just cant be beaten for user interface, and overall experience,quality....etc. Period.
I will agree with the others that stated to go with a Nexus 7 though if you must only choose between those two.

We bought the kids ipad minis...they are great
I currently have the latest iPad. It just throttles everything else on the market.
Note: the new iOS 7 is FANTASTIC!! Very clean, modern and reminds me of what we used to think the future would look like when we were kids.
The designers did a breathtaking job. And of course, it works flawlessly.
My daughter is 6 and took her all of 5 minutes to "master it"
