    Default Best Value?

For all of you that have stayed at different value resorts....we have always stayed at POR (5 of us) but the next time we go it will just be the wife and I and we don't really need to stay at a moderate. Never having stayed at a value, which one would be best? We would probably go anywhere from a Sept to Nov. time frame. Was thinking bout food courts...ease of getting a bus and so on. Thanks for any input.

If we don't stay at a Moderate we love POP. Have stayed at All Stars Movie--that was okay, but POP has a better bus system and the themeing is cool.

Haven't stayed at AOA, but the Little Mermaid rooms look great, too. They are a little more expensive so you have to decide if it is worth it to you.

A of A has a salt water pool and a great food court. If you don't want to stay there, Pop is my choice, can't pool hop to A of A, but you can go across the bridge and eat in the food court and walk through the resort the theming is top notch, especially at night.

I have stayed at all the values and honestly there are pros and cons to each. Sometime during the time you are thinking the food court at All Star Sports is closed for refurb. AoA is really neat theming but if you stay in the Little Mermaid section then you are the farthest from busses and food court. For us a little to far to just run get a quick snack or something to drink. Pop Has their own buses but the resort is much larger so that means a lot more people waiting to use those buses. The All Stars share buses at times but if busy then they send their own. Pop food court is a little bigger but like I said it is a larger resort so food court can get crazy at times. The All Stars are older but they are a better price. We have 6 kids so we have always stayed at the values because of the need to have two rooms. Only affordable way for us. Just because the All Stars are older does not mean they are bad. We stayed at AoA and ended up needing maint guys to come out on both rooms. Sometimes the All Stars are willing to work with you at check in to get you a very close room to busses and food courts.

We are big into spending the day at the parks so I just need a clean place to sleep so the values have always worked great for us.

You will be at Disney so pick one go and have a wonderful trip!

Scrappy has a very good summary. I've found all the values to be fine, with pros and cons, and it really boils down to what theme you like best.

I HIGHLY recommend All Star Music. My family has been going there for all our years of Disney vacation (2000-present day) and we love it. However, there did happen to be a time where we booked a trip and we had to stay in All Star Movies one night and we found it very well themed and entertaining. They had plenty of decorations like the race car from Toy Story which you can actually sit in and 101 Dalmations and the food court was nice. I have never stayed at All Star Sports, but I would not recommend it during your trip as its food court will be under renovation till December. As for Pop Century I have only stayed there once and my family wasn't into it but I have seen people walk into the Art of Animation from PC to the food court at AoA which they find convenient. I would not recommend AoA because it is pricier than the All Stars and PC and since it's the two of you I think you're better off with the other value resorts and maybe purchasing a preferred room, although my family never had a problem with the walking. Like other people have said it comes down to what theme you like. My family includes a lot of musical people so ASM fits us. Good luck.

All star Music.. For those that know....its the best!
If anyone tells you the bus system is better at POP or AofA...they are mistaken. I have never understood the bus issue concerning POP vs Allstar. It just doesn't exist. We have done both. Same thing going on.
All star bus system is just fine. We RARELY EVER share a bus..so rare..i dont even know if we have ever done it.
Sure...at the beginning or end of the day...they are full, some folks will stand. So, what.
Its better than walking. Non issue.
    LOVE All Star Music!!

my first on site was allstar music many yrs ago..ive stayed more at POP then Allstars...I think the location is better...close to Epcot etc. and its newer than Allstar
and I walked to AOA and tried the Food Court which I liked better than POP.
but at the moment I have Allstar Music booked for Oct cause of the great price I got
and I did have some trouble getting phone reception at Pop last time. and the food court was busy at night.

My bride and I had a nice stay for a night at All-Star Music last summer. It was quiet and relaxing for us there. If we wanted to hop over to All-Star Movies, we were a short walk away from it in our room in the Broadway section.

Pop is cool but you dont get the "24/7" disney blast...i love that....
as far as all stars they are mostly the same (different them) depends on if you plan on lots of resort time or will be out most of the day

i found music the best...bad knees i enjoy to sit during the rides to the parks...if sports buses are not full, they will stop at music next...so you can still get a seat....music buses if not full will go to movies...still can get a seat...

was there for my birthday last year...i got bumped up (first time in 25 trips) from a standard room to a preffered room...and actually had my room key (in the calypso section...closest to buses and food court) by noon...which was a huge plus...

and being in music, it is only a small walk if you want to go to movies or sports to check out their food courts....

    good luck deciding

Having stayed at all the values...

I think they are pretty much the same. The food courts tend to be crowded in the mornings. Avoid eating at the food courts if you can.

The All Stars are a little bit smaller so there is less walking involved. PoP is newer. AoA has a really nice food court.

The bus system is about the same at all of them as well.

IMHO it's better to get a non-preferred room. Even though you will probably have to walk further it will be much quieter. Ask for a room away from the main pool facing a parking lot.

They "upgraded" us to a preferred room once. It was right in front of the big pool at All Star Music and it was terrible. It was loud all night long.

I've only ever stayed at a value for short stints, mostly the night before checking in to another resort....I've been to sports and POP. By far POP would be the best. The food court was good and it seemed better run, not so croweded feeling.....plus POP has a great place to run, if you do that. You can run around the hourglass lake which takes you over to AoA.....Sports was crazy the time I was there. The food court was in a shambles, dirty, loud, busy....just not the Disney feel to it .....
