Walking to Epcot through International Gateway/Park Opening
How is it handled when you enter Epcot through the International Gateway and World Showcase isn't opened yet? If we want to get to Future World when it opens do they let you wait close to the future world entrance or do you have to wait at the International Gateway entrance?

International Gateway Entrance
You can enter Epcot from the resort side through the International Gateway and walk to Future World walking past the U.K. and Canada pavillions. It's a nice quiet walk and the kiosk between the two pavillions is open with coffee and pastries for purchase. Have fun!

Over 100 seperate visits since 1972!
1st visit was before Space Mountain was built and we used ticket books to see attractions!

And now the bakery in France is open as well. Yum!

I love empty World Showcase! One of the best things about staying in one of the Epcot resorts.

Actually, that's my favorite time to be in WS, before and right as it opens.

Also at night, after hours, if you've stayed late for dinner and almost everyone's gone when you emerge, but everything's still lit up. It really feels enchanted at that hour, so beautiful and serene. Why aren't we there now?

We had a late dinner one night and when we were walking to the monorail nobody but a few guys with hoses were out and around the showcase. It was weird but really nice, dark, and was peaceful.

That's the one thing about WS at night - it's very dark. But definitely peaceful, yes.

I think I read that the French Bakery is open at 9 or 9:30...
Someone know for sure?

Correct. It opens at park opening (9am).

Can you only get to the French pastry shop from the entrance be France that early? I remember getting off the boat at that entrance one morning and walking around the entire loop. I received weird looks from the CMs. I thought I had done something wrong but no one escorted me out.

I don't think it's not allowed, I just think it's probably unusual until World Showcase opening that someone walks the whole loop with nothing else open yet. I can see that it would an extra security concern to make sure that you were just enjoying the walk with no ulterior motives.

I don't think walking around the loop is allowed. The ropes are up for a reason, right?

True enough. Maybe not allowed. The ropes would indicate that you're right about this.

I would love to do a morning jog around the WS loop. Then, I could hit the pastry shop in France to eat the calories I just burned and then head back to the hotel to take a shower and hit the parks.
