    Default Upper berth?

When we sail we will have a 5 1/2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old. How high up is the upper pull down berth and is there any railing on it? I am wondering if ODS will be okay to sleep in it or if we should talk my brother into letting one of the boys sleep on the couch in his stateroom which is adjoining to ours.

Never used one, but bed rails are available on the ships as well. I have to guess they would fit the upper berth as well.

The upper berth site at probably 5' to 5'6". There is a railing (at least every time we have used it). It is about 6" to 8" above the mattress. My daughter has used it twice since turning 5".
