We rode EE 8 times when we went to AK at the end if June, and earlier in the day there was no Yeti! I even described to the kids in my group what it used to be like when the Yeti was there! But when we went back later that day, there he was! Not swinging his arm, but definitely visible and lit up! The kids thought it was really neat!

In July the Yeti was there with the strobe light in full effect. I was in WDW from 7/18 to 7/27

Just sad, like Splash, Maelstrom and several others. Its as if, we'll lets send them around on a boat, or a mild roller coaster, and that will be enough.. Reminder, we don't come to Disney for thrills, its the theme w/ the ride.

I don't know that we've ever seen the yeti working.

I was just there and was 100 percent convinced I saw the Yeti moving...he was getting a Dole Whip Float. Then I realized the hirsute guy in line in front of me just needed to put his shirt back on.

I was there on 8/5 and the yeti was NOT working and was dark. I was very disappointed. I complained after the ride to my wife in the gift shop when she explained to me that he was on vacation in Anaheim and was staying at the matterhorn. I felt that this was a completely reasonable excuse and was happy the rest of the day..

I've never seen him working, and have finally convinced myself that most likely I never will... I'm sure in a few years they'll take him out and use the space for a meet and greet or a gift shop!

One of the sad things this thread reveals is that so few people have actually seen him in full working order, that almost know one knows (or remembers) what full working order actually looked like.

We've seen him moving more recently that 5-6 years as well. We saw it in the first three months it opened as well as recently, we've seen him still some trips and moving some as recent as a year or so ago.

This will actually be a great question in the have you ever thread! Have you ever seen the yeti in full working order? Thankfully my answer would be yes but not too many people can even say that! How sad. That animatronic is the best one EVER when working and present! I know a lot of people that have NEVER seen him. Maybe by the time my 3 year old and 7 month old is ready to ride it will be working?!!!

We were there today, and he is definately not working. Only a strobe light. Pretty lame actually.

Now I'm reminded why AK is my least favorite park.

    Amen.

One of our Disney fixes is watching the History channel or Disney park videos. They go on about how great the Yeti is, and what they wanted to do during construction... Its funny how far its fallen from that dream.
