have you tried staying offsite to change things out and opinions?

hi,

dw and I have stayed at the valu resorts 6 or so times always with free dining and it has been great.

we go for 10-12 nights and considering staying a few nites at a cheaper motel in kissimmee a few nights and then if we hit a beach or something we can stay there rather than commuting back to disney.

has anyone had any experiences with the cheaper motels in kissimmee and other areas compared to a valu in disney? we go in september so there are lots of vacancies everywhere but we are concerned about lumpy beds and musty rooms.

Not sure how cheap you think cheap is? We have stayed at the Holiday Inn on Palm Parkway (near DTD, but not the new one) and it was completely okay for a quick trip. I wouldn't stay there for a week. But it was $75 a night, clean and cheery, free breakfast.

The 'Offsite' hotels we've stayed at are a HoJo, Holiday Inn Main Gate, The Orlando Vista near DTD.
