Resort Specific Merch.

On past trips we have enjoyed always picking up something small like a magnet or triviet from resorts we stay at. I remember reading something a while back about merchandise around the parks and resorts becoming less specific. Does anyone know if Saratoga Springs has resort specific items in their shop? Thanks!

Not sure about Saratoga Springs but I just recently read that resort specific merchandise has been reappearing.

Also can't speak about Sarasota Springs but I saw that there was quite a bit of specific merchandise at CSR last year. (I was really surprised because there hadn't been a lot during our previous trips.)

I believe magnets/keychains and pins will always have a place in each resorts merch shops. Yes they were slowling becoming generic with merch in the recent past but as articles online have been pointing out, its all finally coming back to be more vibrant. I, for one, cant wait to bring $500 spending money for souvies! Knowing me Ill just buy a Giclee and have no more for other little things. I always end up doing that! haha

Yes. There are numerous things you can get in their shop.

If you are a salsa fan... I suggest picking up a jar of "Saratoga Salsa & Spice". Being from Saratoga Springs NY, this is a locally run family business of close family friends of my family. There salsa is FANTASTIC!!

Yes, resort merchandise is making a comeback. I noticed a lot of new stuff at several resorts in December. I also follow a Disney blogger and he's provided pictures of resort merchandise at almost all the deluxe resorts during the first half of this year. Not sure SSR was covered, but most other deluxe resorts had a nice variety of new merchandise.

I like picking up resort-specific merch. It reminds me of the good times. I know I've picked some up from AKL, CSR, and CBR. And most have a penny machine for that specific resort. Good hunting!

I just returned from Disney on Saturday. There was a lot of merchandise at the polynesian that was resort specific. In fact, I bought a T-shirt with Minnie on it that has a small Polynesian logo on it.

Every year we pick up something resort specific. All little momentos typically I have seen, assorted clothes, ie tshirts, shorts, etc., but for more small trinkets I have seen, shot glasses, pins, magnets, luggage tags, cups, mugs.

We were there this past May and were pleasantly surprised when we saw a whole bunch of new resort merch. in the beach club, yacht club and boardwalk. As well as new dvc stuff. They made a bundle on us.

This is exactly why they are coming back out with all this merch! It's certainly not a bad thing (wish they could bring it back with a little cheaper) but its nice to have it back!!

I wish they would bring back more resort specific merchandise. I was very disappointed last time we camped at Fort Wilderness, and I could not buy a "Fort Wilderness" hat. They only had hats that said "Disney Parks" or other "generic" Disney hats

I'm one who is applauding the new merchandise appearing all over the resort. Offerings have been steadily improving over the past year or two. Resort specific merchandise has definitely picked up and I've noticed it more at deluxe resorts than the others.

I saw at the WL there was a wall at the front of the store dedicated to shirts with the WL on it.

Also, they still at the Disney Totem and some picture frames with the WL lodge on it, which we bought.

It was nice to see because having items like that can stimulate your memory the same way a smell or a sound can. I will enjoy seeing those items on my fireplace mantle to remind me of this past trip and my trip back in 2007 when we stayed at the WL.

I love seeing it too, but a lot of it is very similar.
Vero beach, beach club, boardwalk, Saratoga all look VERY similar! I'll post some pics the next time I'm out ...

I'd like to see a little more variety but it's a start in the right direction

Yes, but that sort of thing happens everywhere. I bought a great shirt from Margaritaville about ten years ago.

I still have it. It is very run down and I wear it as a "knock-around" shirt now when it was designed to be a very nice polo shirt. However, I have found nothing like that to replace it with anymore.

These things go in cycles. I would just be happy there are items coming back into the stores.
