Questions about Disney tickets & Taxi

Hey everyone! I'm currently planning a trip to Orlando and we are visiting Disney for one day. I had a few questions and I hope you can help me out.

I received a Disney comp. ticket during one of our trips in 2009 and it says that it doesn't expire until 2019. Have any of you ever receieved one of these tickets before? Is there anyway to check to see if it is still valid? I'm a little worried because the card is very bent and I want it to still fit through the park entrance slots.

I also needed to get another 1-day ticket before entering the first park. Do you know if you can purchased a 1-day ticket at the gates at Hollywood Studios? Does the process a buying a ticket at the gate take a long time?

The last thing, we need to take a taxi to and from our hotel in order to get to the park. Do any of you recommend a taxi service in Orlando? Are there any taxi services we should avoid? I've heard about certain ones that don't have meters.

You can buy tickets at the booths just in front of the entrance at all the parks. It does not take long, but I only go when school is in session, so it may take longer during holidays and summer.

I've used Mears taxi and they were great.

Now that I think about it, why do I not recall seeing booths at MK? Is it because I have tunnel vision and never bought one there?

Anyway, there are definitely booths at DHS.

There are no ticket booths at MK. They are at the TTC.

True, there are no ticket booths at the MK, but I am pretty sure (and someone will correct me if I'm wrong) that you actually want to add a day to your comp ticket, not buy a one day ticket. And that you can add a day at the Customer Service Window at the far right side of the gates (by the bathrooms). This should be cheaper and more convenient.

Not sure where the MK part came in as the OP was asking about DHS but you can unless it has recently changed, you can buy tickets in MK. There were people buying tickets at the guest relations windows in November when I was waiting to renew my pass and there are also ticket kiosks set up there.

Comp tickets cannot be upgraded, added to, or modified in any way, period. Sorry.
