WL villas
I understand the different views, but how much walking is there really if you stay in a room towards the back of the villas?
Does it really make that much of a difference to get a room near the Hidden Pool area?

It's only ONE building and not that big a building! No different between one end of it and the other, IMO. All rooms are close to the pool.

We stayed at WLV on our last trip and were near the end of the hall. I didn't think it was that big of a deal and that was with two strollers and all the gear that goes along with a day at the park with little guys. If the walk had been overly long we certainly would have noticed. Our room looked out to a wooded area and we even saw deer on a couple of occasions. Now, the Kidani Villas at AKL have some ridiculously long hallways.

We had almost the last room down the loooooong hallway - I think there was one more room past ours. It did seem like a long walk, some nights - but then we were 4 over 50 somethings and one 30 something and a five year old.
We have talked about trying to get closer to the Atrium on future trips.

We were in the last room one year and yes it was a walk to get places. With that being said it was one of the quietest rooms we've ever had. There was no one walking past our room early in the morning or late at night. I would take that room again if available.

So, yes, IMHO, it does make a difference.
How funny. We call is the "Shining Hallway".

Husband and I don't shy away from walking. But we will have our 1 and 3 yr old. I'm just wondering what room/view/area to request when we book next month.
Seems to be mixed opinions on this!

We had a stroller, so the 5 yr old just rode into the elevator and then on down to the room.
We had a 2 bedroom reserved and were more interested in getting a dedicated 2 bedroom (2 beds instead of a bed and a sleeper couch) so that was our request.
Other than that request, I don't think we'd have a specific request unless we had an elderly person with mobility issues. Even the long hallway isn't any longer than regular hallways at many resorts.
