“We’re Going to Disney World!!!!” Well in 10 days…Pre-trip Report

We’ll leave not-so-bright and early and 4am for our 20+ hour drive to Orlando. The goal is to make it to Valdosta, GA the first night. This should leave us a short 3 hour drive to Orlando the next day.
We will arrive on Feb. 5th, Super Bowl Sunday. Unfortunately our Packers aren’t in it this year, but at least we won’t have to worry about watching the whole game that way. MK has night EMH that night. The plan is to get checked into Pop and then head over to MK about noon-ish. We’ll hang out for a while and then head back to the resort to get settled and maybe hang out by the pool and watch some of the game. If all goes according to plan we’ll head back by early evening and then hang out until the kids tell us its time to go.
Feb. 6th we’ll do AK and DHS, gotta get our use out of those Park Hoppers we paid for. We have dinner ADR’s at Chef Mickey’s. When I asked DS what he wanted to do at WDW he said, “Eat with Mickey!” Since it is his first trip I think he should get his wish. After dinner we’ll head on out to DHS for more night EMH.
On Feb. 7th we check into BC! This will be an all Epcot day. We’ll spend the morning at the park, hang out at the pool for a little while, then DD will get her reward for her good report card, mini-golf. We have ADR’s at Kouzzina this night. This is the last ADR of the trip. If everyone is up for it we’ll head back to the parks for some Illuminations and more rides.
Feb. 8th is up in the air at this point. Probably head back to DHS/AK to do anything we didn’t cover the last time.
Feb. 9th is MK day part II. DD really wanted to do BBB for this trip. I told her I’d see what I could do. I told her I wasn’t able to get her an appointment, but we could find something special to do once we got there. I totally lied to her! She has an 8 am (what was I thinking!) appointment at BBB. DS also has an appointment at Pirates League. Neither one knows about these. DH and I decided that we’ll surprise them that morning. I can’t wait to tell them.
Feb. 10th this is the day we leave. We’ll hit the parks one last time and head out some time around lunch. The goal is to be back home by early evening on the 11th so we can attend a going away party for a friend being deployed to Afghanistan.

I look forward to reading your rpt! We are surprising our 7 yr old daughter w BBB (8:10am!) and 5 yo son with Pirates League also!

So... details appreciated!! I am specifially curious about how much fun parent time you get. So, daughter goes first and son is at 10...but DH doesn't want to miss watching daughter - but my son will be BORED. so... we'll have to take turns somehow... at any rate, ENJOY!!

Sounds great! I so miss the days when my daughter was young and we enjoyed BBB and character meals/autographs. But on the positive side - she is 21 and still loves Disney. We are planning a just 'mom and daughter' trip there in October during a long weekend off of college.

I know all too well about the lay over in Valdosta, GA.... Your 3-hour drive reasoning is exactly ours when we drove.
